Anaconda sales - actually sales?

Is it just me, or are anaconda sales a bit like those Turkish rug shops - in that you NEVER see them selling things at 'full' price?

I bought a stand up paddle board from there a year ago, marked down from $500 to $300, thinking it looked like a good deal. Keeping an eye on the prices since then, all their boards stayed firmly at the 'sale' price.

I suspect the same holds for most of their other stuff too.

Do anaconda actually have 'sales' as such? Is it worth keeping an eye out for them?

With any sale, you can get genuine bargains but you need to know prices beforehand.

  • Last month I got a gas bottle refill for $15 in one of their sales.

  • I now the bikes they sell have a listed RRP that is more than they are worth, but the sale (or member) price is usually an indicator of their true value.

Too many stores seem to have sales 365 days per year and seem to inflate prices artificially to get a bigger discount.

  • Im going to say RRP is a LOAD Of BS in 98% of products in the modern era of retail

The easiest example is Cloths - Same cotton shirt made in china one has a Polo logo on it $100, one doesn't $6….

RRP Is essentially a made up price to make consumers feel like they are getting a deal on over priced products.

  • I notice a reclining camp chair on special for $143 ($240 rrp which was bs). Lazy bugger forgot to take a sign down from week before which was a 1/2 price special $119. Got it at $119.

  • Anaconda is part of the Spotlight Group.

An example of how they may price items - Singer 4423 Heavy Duty Sewing Machine Grey $299…@ Spotlight

    The OP points out -

    $599 on Singer Australia site

What they don't mention is that the machine is exclusive to Spotlight. So it seems to be a great bargain at "half price".

Just like your paddle board, the machine will always be on "special"
