  Nitro Nation Drag & Drift is a free to play game. They make there money by offering in-game purchases. Much like there other offerings such as Drag Racing HD and there mobile games that contain ads & offer in-app purchases. These type of games are usually listed with + next to there listed free or price. Indicating the game on the MS store offers in game purchases.

      S/he meant "their money", it was a typo. And they make it for the same reason any person or business makes money - to survive and progress.

      I realised after a couple of years of playing CSR2 that it was a similar kind of vibe. I spent so many hours on both of those games.
