Free Mos Burger and Chips (Brisbane and Gold Coast)

380

First Post Here! I just saw it in the freebies blog and I just tried it 5 minutes ago (the Birsbane free chips one) and it worked! Hope everyone will enjoy it.

This is what I see from the freebies blog.

  1. They are giving out free chips with every burger purchased in brisbane. All you have to do is like their facebook page and show it to the counter. (on the phone I guess)
  2. They are giving out 200 free burgers in Gold Coast this saturday. I guess again all you have to do is show them you have liked their page on facebook.

Here is the link:

ok we got a plus and minus button where is the "?" or "rising eyebrows simley" button?

      • +3

if u ever been to japan
mos burger is a chain there

their beef patties are like seriously best patties uve ever tasted

their main burger is just cheese and pattie. but alone it beats any stupid gourmet restaurant "wagyu" crap that u can ever try

they give off the impression of a cleanier, more premium burger king. but the seasoning they use is second to none.

i stowed 4 burgers on the plane ride back during my last day in japan (flew jetstar using one of the ozbargain posted 2for1 sales and didnt opt for the food option)

        • They aren't just in Japan.

          I've seen them in HK.

      • -3

rising eyebrows - ahhh i've finally learned how to link in markdown!!!

why dont image markdowns work though?
        test2
(although i wouldnt want 100 pictures flooding each post so for the best, small resized thumbs would be cool though.)

        ಠ_ಠ

        • +1

          Look of disapproval!

    • Haha, that was my first thought too! Brings back good memories of Japan :-)

    • Colour me surprised!

Everyone I know who's been to Japan raves about MOS Burger. I tried it when I went to Japan, and it was OK, but I've definitely had better. Still, a free meal is nothing to sniff at!

      • -2

I've tried the one at stunnybank. It's basically a burger where the beef patty is like a spaghetti sauce flavoured patty instead of plain grilled beef. It's really not that great. I'll take a plain grilled beef burger any day.

    • Yep both in brisbane
      Sunnybank and also Surfers Paradise(building)

weird they chose QLD though, i would expect it to be Sydney(due to asian percentage)

      • I don't think the direct flights from Brissie/GG to Japan are for no reason at all. Yes I was surprised as well, but saw it in the recent Jetstar Deal

      • Guess you've never been to sunnybank

        • nope i have but you'd expect their first store to be at cabramatta @ Sydney
(but as mentioned in this thread, the person who set this up—>MosBurger in Australia lives in brisbane)

  • +4

Yeah bring it to Melbourne - wanna eat those crazy rice burgers again (they were good)

    • isnt that lotteria, different chain

      • +5

Wash your mouth out. Lotteria is no Mos Burger. I like Lotteria, and it has the same melon soda (which is just devine), but where I stayed in Osaka, they were both within a walking distance of each other and Mos Burger won out 9 times out of 10. That said, Freshness Burger was awesome too, including a delightful lime soda which was delivered with little lime containers you could pour into your soda to make your own preferred strength.

Seriously, go to Japan, cheap Jetstar flight, stay at a Flexstay or Weekly Mansions hotel in Osaska Shinsaibashi or Tokyo Ikebukuro for about $70 a night (only $30 more than a capsule!), grab a rail pass before you go (one return trip on the bullet train between Osaka and Tokyo or Osaka and Hiroshima will cover your full 7 day pass) and have the time of your life.

Mos Burger is great, but it's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to great japanese food. You can't go wrong, except when you buy a pastry and its got bean curd in it, but that's just another great travel story.

        Disclaimer : I do not work for the Japanese Tourism Authority, which is apparently giving away 10,000 free flights to Japan next year;

        Sorry so off topic.

        • yeh aside from ur troll post showing off ur knowlege of japan

i never said mos burger was lotteria, and didnt even compare the. i fact the complete opposite

also given the choice i wud go to mosburger as i dont pay money to eat rice cakes. lotteria isnt bad, but nothing to write home about
id only gotosteal their drink mats

      • Could be, I can't remember. I liked both the burger chains over there.
        Really like those rice burger,,,yum!

    • YEAH. The rice burgers! That was my breakfast when I had a flight from Taiwan. BEST BURGER EVER.

    • You guys have sushi burger with those whole softshell crabs in them. Those are nicer than any mos burger.

    What's a "buger"?

    • Join the navy, they'll show you…

    • +1

      sorry for the typo :(

Road trip time! We have to support Mos burger Australia so they come to Melbourne.

    • So true, I wanna get another mos burger now. The burger is so good and it only costs me around $4 with the chips… I hope I can stay in Brisbane longer or they should have one in TAS too!

  • MOS = Mountain, Ocean, Sun

    Weird name, but awesome burgers.

  • MOS burger is freckin good.
I had it while I was in Taiwan.
Hope they have one in Sydney soon.

    MOSU BAH GAH!!!

  • why would they start MOS Burger in Brisbane before Sydney and Melb? =(

    • Brisbane and the Gold Coast is very popular with Japanese tourists (even more so than Sydney).

I tried MOS Burger the last time I was in Tokyo. Very nice (as far as fast food goes). They bring out your meal in a little basket. Cute.

      • They want to step into the western world slowly.

Brisbane and Gold Coast is more popular to Japanese than Sydney.

My guess, next city would be Sydney, because of the many asian suburbs (Eastwood, Chatswood, Cabramatta etc.)

    • +2

They would have done lots of research. Their first store in Sunnybank is in the heart of Asian food in Brissie. They can fine tune the product line there, before exposing themselves to the larger & more competitive markets. They even had a 10% discount for students over the holidays. I didn't even know they were a few Km from me until this post! Not a big burger fan, but ate Mos Burgers many times on my trips to Japan. Their range of burgers sound interesting.

"After Brisbane, Mos Burger aims to establish stores in Sydney and Melbourne, then in Perth, Adelaide and other cities and regional centres. The company is eyeing 30 outlets in five years."
"The company has hardly altered its menu for Australia, although it has increased the burger sizes by 20 per cent along with its prices."

    • They started it in Brisbane because the people who brought the system over live there lol.

  • I saw the gold coast store on the weekend. It's all ready to open. Sorry it doesn't look very special at all, like a small take away burger shop. Their fish burger looks exactly like the maccas fillet of fish - exactly. I guess I have to wait and try one but the pics at the shop don't look very special at all. Fish burger , little chips and drink is $8.90.
The poster says something like 200 free burgers, no mention about face book.

    • +3

Seriously, who goes to a burger shop known for specialising in juicy beef paddies to order and critique their fish?

Its like going to a takeaway pizza shop and complaining about the salad, or the quality of the steak being served at the local seafood cafe.

      • The big screen in the store was showing a fish burger so of course that is what I saw and commented on. It was a burger

    "First Post Here"

…And? How does that add to whether the bargain you have posted is a good one or not?

    • +5

      Geez settle petal

      • -8

I'm incredibly settled, thank you for your concern anyway.

        • +1

Great to hear. And what is your verdict on the post? Is it a good bargain or not?

        • It is a decent bargain, but not relevant to me as I don't live in QLD, thus I did not positive vote it.

    • u mean Master Chef?

    • And exactly how many bargains have you posted on this website?

      The gall….

  • Hope this will happen if/when it opens in Melbourne :)

  • Holy crap on a stick. Please bring it on! I knew that they had registered the trade mark years ago but nothing had come from it. in Japan, every Friday after I had finished teaching for the week, I would point my motorbike to the next town over and grab my MOS burger.

  • Had them in Singapore. Awesome burgers

    • Same here. Absolutely delicious!

  • +2

GREAT! I'm off to Mos Burgers at Sunnybank. So many choices… Might try the Kimchi Rice Burger, or the Seafood Okonomi Rice burger http://www.facebook.com/media/albums/?id=151673404899321

"According to The Australian, Mos Burger is looking to open 30 Australian outlets in five years, and 300 down the track, and says its first Australian store in Brisbane has exceeded expectations." http://www.smartcompany.com.au/franchising/20110621-japan-s-…

    • Ahhh..they are expanding soon! That's a good thought!

    • wow that's a pretty big expansion

      300 in Australia

    • -1

Don't mention a non beef burger. I did (above) and got attacked for it :)

      • so no vegetarian/vegan option

        • They have a few vegetarian burgers

  • noice! I enjoyed having this when I was in BKK.

  • Lot of love for Mos Burger @ Chitose Airport. I hope they keep the same recipie.

  • Welcome to MOS Burger!!!!!

  • I had one on the weekend in suffers. It was nice but still a chain store burger. Had the wagyu burger. Lots of people there. I would go again, just like I would go to maccas or hungry jacks.
Talking to one of the managers there, the southport store will open in a month or two.
