Genuine Casio F-91W Where to Buy

Hi all,

i'm after the classic Casio F-91W, haven't decided whether to go for the original look or the vintage one with yellow-goldish outline with yellow buttons. The thing i'm struggling with is where to buy the genuine piece.

There was an Ebay deal posted recently that was taken down as counterfeit, so ebay would probably be the last port of call. I've looked at amazon, but it's either "Sold by Monster Trading Store and Fulfilled by Amazon" or "Ships from and sold by Onogo AU" or "Sold by xTrend Australia and Fulfilled by Amazon" etc. So not sure again which one of those if any will be 100% genuine.

Would much appreciate if anyone could point me in the right direction.

  • I'd probably go through Amazon and then conduct your due diligence upon the receipt of the watch, i.e.:

    • Checking whether or not the watch appears with the 'CASIO' loading when you press the button at 4 o'clock, as well as
    • Checking the caseback and strap

This is a pretty good guide to ensure you're not getting sold a lemon - all the best and enjoy your future beater watch!

    • Thanks for that link. I recall one of the youtubers mentioned that the dodgy ones these days emulate the CASIO trick. So i'd rather go with a reputable seller to avoid the hassle with returns, chargebacks, etc.

The other option that i forgot to mention is creationwatches.com - they claim "Guaranteed 100% genuine and brand new" are they legit i wonder?

I bought a fake (from Amazon, sold by William Klein, was supposed to be genuine but after 6 months I figured out it is fake!) that did that too, they are getting smarter.

I bought the real one from Glue Store for $30 ($40 and -25% off everything sale).

Don't risk it OP, just overpay and get it from City Beach if you want the real thing.

There was a thread on Reddit that had a really good fake as well. Here is a pic from it. Be careful!

i'm suprised that a sub $40 casio watch is worth copying. but each to their own.

Why not just buy from a B&M store and have that peace of mind?

these watches are like $10 in japan or the usa. check amazon in those countries.
so $20-30 is appropriate here. anything over $40 and you are getting scammed for the retro fashion

that said, you should also take a look at some similar alternatives. many old casios are dirt cheap
i had the f-91w and moved to an a158w (with yellow face). exactly the same watch, less than $25, but with a metal strap.

i just mention it opens up more styles, and because i find the metal strap a little more comfortable. less sticky in hot weather. the f-91 is great though, cant go wrong

  • Amazon from Amazon AU seller

    • all i get on amazon is fulfilled by amazon, but sold by third parties (whom i never heard of before), hence the hesitation

  • Casio
    Casio W-800H-1AV

I got that watch from monster trading. As far as I know it's legit

That moment where I'm only in my 30s and a watch that I wore as a kid is considered "retro" and apparently is on trend…!

    • I bought a F-91W as a G-Shock replacement because a fat and thicc G-Shock proved to be more of an annoyance than being helpful.
I must say, I have been treating my F-91W as a G-Shock (smashing, not caring about it at all, use it while raining) and it is working just as well, but without the added thickness.

      • have you tried the DW5600 series? they're not as chunky as most other G-Shocks

  • Isn't yellow one F-94W ? I used to have a F-91W when I was a kid which was a blue one.

    • F-91WG was the one i meant, not the "gold" as such, but the one with a slightly different color scheme

You can be pretty sure the F91s sold on Amazon are genuine. Sellers have to go through a pretty strict audit before they can sell most branded items on that platform. Have a look at the F-91WM models also.

  • all,
has anyone had any experience with creationwatches?
searched the forums and seems to be a hit and miss with a few people

    • They are based in Singapore. Fine if you want to get a cheap watch, not OK if something goes wrong and you have to return it for a warranty repair.

Both are highly regarded by g-shock collectors but they don't have such a cheap model. Maybe ask for a special order?

This is what the fans buy
