EOFYS targeting and Social standing credit?
Apparently every single person who ever becomes a manager of a company instantly turns into a heartless scrooge
Not necessarily, but let's not be naive that every sale is done for the good of the recipients of said discount.
Seppo term for Emergency Workers.
Seppo?
Seppo as in rhyming slang for Yank (US citizen) is Septic Tank. Thus Seppo term meaning a US centric term for emergency staff.
@nitens: Thanks
Retailers Association sales promotion.
List of participating stores can be found here
Looks like the Dymocks one is open for abuse (just like first responders, hah!)
"For online customers, use promo code thankyou20 and enter your organisation in the 'company name' section at checkout."
For this thread, you are the first responder.
Oh god I hope the "thank-you for your service" BS doesn't take off here in Aus.
way too late already
If I get there before doors open does this make me a 1st responder by default?
No, just a very late responder from the previous trading day
Damn - what's good at BCF that you can't normally get good sales on? Weber?
Yeah great for Weber, not so much the actual BBQ as they aren't an official agent but 30% off the accessories is great. Another decent one is Engel fridges will come down to some decent prices too
You can buy Weber Baby Qs off of them. Getting the family version at 30% off would be great.
Don't forget to stack with discounted gift cards of up to 10%.
Anyone able to supply the full T&Cs? Old man is a medical doctor and he might need to buy some gifts for the family.
Can I get a discount for doing my job normally as well? Hate this virtue signalling by corporates.
Are you a first responder?
Who says they're doing their job well?
Fact is, they're doing a job that you obviously aren't. Move on, nothing for you here.
Now with invalid neg votes!
I have a major problem with the retailer using virtue signalling to generate revenue before EOFY.
If this was truly a generous, thankful offer, it would:
- not be time bound (what about if a first responder is working the one day of the sale?)
- be more reflective of margin, not a nominal discount
- use their supply chain to supply safety resources
- target those who have lost their jobs in the name of public health as well
Doctors and nurses have never had it easier.
My friend who works in the ICU of the hospital begs to differ.
do you have statistics? our department have had the same amount of emergency procedures if not more during this time. Sure there are no more traffic accidents but the number of heart attacks or strokes are still the same if not more. Lifestyle changes and lockdowns have caused many people to not come in for check ups and caused emergency issues.
So sure, we might not deserve these sales and they’re all a marketing tactic, but don’t say that we’ve never had it any easier. Because we are still all working hard and saving lives.

Hey OP tip for future screenshots WIN-SHIFT-S ;)
wow learnt something new today
Is there any list of First Responders (doctors, nurses and….?
Full T&Cs have been released - https://www.bcf.com.au/customer-service/first-responders-day…
Good deal, shame I don't know any first responders to buy me something.
Have a heart attack tomorrow and see if the paramedics will swing by BCF on the way to the hospital.
Not such a bad idea now you mention it.
Anyone know if the 30% is off the already reduced club price?
“Not valid with any other offers”
What an absolute farce. Circling the neolib drain.
Terms & Conditions made public now:

What's all this first responder stuff going on?
