Hoping to hear some of your experiences with youi or Budget Direct home insurance claims. I'm trying to decide between them.

Excerpts from the last two weeks of reviews mentioning claims:
"Did absolutely everything in their power to get out of approving our claim"

Budget seem to be a great cheap company to choose, until you need to claim, lol..
I've heard from 2 friends, that Budget tried to refund their policies, instead of paying out the claim.
Unhappy people will leave reviews
Happy people are less likley too.the reviews always fail to mention the particulars, like when the insured party has failed to do something or the like.
Every insurer will have expectations of you when you claim, getting quotes etc and when the insured fails to do what is expected of them its "F this company" etc
I have been with Budget Direct for years for home and contents and never had an issue with claims
2 weeks max and its always painless and quickYoui on the other hand i have personally not used but friends have for car and home insurance, lets just say many of them are no longer customers.
i did a quote with Youi yesterday, compared to my current insurance provider (AAMI), they're $20pm cheaper.. thats ridiculous. I even did the same valuations as on the AAMI certificate
Why is that ridiculous? Two different policies owned by different companies - what were you expecting?
Youi were $300 dearer than Allianz for house insurance. The Youi guy had no idea why they were dearer with same policy so I switched.
I've been with Budget Direct for 5 years now.
Had a claim for fence damage and they were fantastic to deal with.
Got 2 quote, submitted the claim and all approved within a week.
