amaysim - if I Buy a $2 Sim and Activate It Online, Do I Have to Go on a Plan/Add Credit Immediately?

Hi,

Sorry if this has been asked, but I have done some searching. Looking for current info. I have read the T&Cs on the amaysim website but it doesn't explicitly say.

I am looking to park a number, not interested in outgoing calls/data. Sim will most likely live in my wallet for a few months (i.e. prob between 6-12 months). So do I need to add credit (e.g. pay $10 for PAYG) immediately upon activation, or can I hold off from doing so for a few months?

I will most definately do the 365 day PAYG option in future, just looking to hold off from doing it immediately.

    Not sure if you can get a $2 sim and activate the 365 day deal. I tried already with Optus for the 365day 120gb deal and it will not work as the code prefix on the $2 sim is different. The 365 days deal is only available online (at least from Optus)

      You can, I did it just now.

      So the answer to my question in the OP is NO, you must choose a "plan" (or as you go) in order to complete sim activation.
