5/7 Days @ Mango Bay Resort FIJI for $300, $399 Per Couple

50

Hey so I just bought this (7 day one) for what looks like a pretty good price (down from over a grand). Probs wont get to make it away for ages but thought Id take advantage now n give myself something to look forward to.
Includes:
Accomodation for two in a Beach Bure (Queen bed)
Return transfer to airport
Welcome cocktail
Breakfast each day
One dinner for two at their restaurant
Free kayak and snorkelling hire

TripAdvisor has generally positive reviews and recommends it at a good spot for the younger crowd to get away and party a bit (ie perhaps not great for little kids)

I've emailed to find out if I can switch the queen bed to two singles but haven't heard back yet. Will post back when I do.
EDIT: ok so just got an email back and for any non-couples interested in this they will add another single bed to the room at no extra cost:)

Cant wait to get away!

  • Well, a few random date searches on their normal booking website shows it's worth $800-$1,000.

As a caveat emptor: Mango Bay is generally considered a slightly slimy party hotel for getting your drink on and getting laid. If that isn't your goal, look elsewhere. If it is your goal, score.

    • +1

Getting your drink on and getting laid? buys 10 =p

    • +2

      getting laid. Shoot and Score.BAM

      but seriously no fat chicks

    • not sex and alcohol?!:O dammit…thats totally gonna mess with my plans of knitting and gardening!

      • Should put a warning in the title… You may get drunk and laid!!

  • Just need a cheap flight to take advantage..

  • Funny I read it as a box of mangoes for $300. Knew something was wrong.

  • I've stayed here, the owners are Aussie :)
Would recommend to the under 40's crowd. Don't take your kids!

    • So can they arrange 2 single beds in a room if you go with a friend because it's $300 a couple, but it sounds like they must get groups of singles.

  • My partner and I are going there on the 17th of November for 5 nights. We got a package from Grab One a couple of months back, but paid a little bit more ($374 for the both of us). Looks like an OK place. Flights were more expensive than the accommodation so keep that in mind. It cost around $580 pp for return from Fiji. Also children under 12 are not catered for at Mango Bay, so it's pretty much suits the younger crowd :)

  • Went there for 5 days as part of a few weeks honeymoon a couple of years ago, booked through Expedia and managed to get a pretty similar price on the beachfront Bure. I wouldn't consider paying the full rate. But for this price, well worth it.

Loved staying there, had a better experience than at the Sheraton (another story) for a fraction of the price. And this was when everything got battered by the cyclones. Available meals were pretty simple.

Hot tip, ask some of the locals about taking you out trawling on their village boat, and give them a contribution for the boat fuel and hire. They'll prepare and cook the fish for you, and you'll get the real Fiji experience.

I'd say so long as you miss the footy trips, and schoolies, you should have a ripper of a time.
