Here I'm lying in bed waiting to fall asleep and I can hear this cough every night around the same time.
Why Does My Next Door Neighbour Always Do a Big Audible Cough around 11PM Every Night?

Yes OP - what did the neighour say when you asked? How is that you think that anyone on OZB can possibly know what your neighbour is doing….
Might actually be a neighbourly thing to ask them if they're okay as you hear them cough etc. Instead, you may find your validation here with strangers.
No I won't be going around and ask since I'm in the high risk category myself. He's not an old bloke and has other family members in the house.
Most likely medication. Asthma preventer etc??
My neighbhour wakes around 7:00 each morning & does his little cough routine whilst having his smoke out on his verandah.. You'd think that would be a warning sign to quit smoking.. Oh well..
