Bluetooth Headphones (for Jogging) - Budget around $50

Hi All,

Having now had 2 different models of Sound Peats headphones fail on me, I'd appreciate any recommendations around the $50 mark for BT headphones suitable for running. Prefer in-ear models.

I really like the Sound Peats, sound was great, just been unlucky with them and charging mechanisms dying.

Cheers,
Mark

I got Bose SoundSport Wireless Bluetooth Headphones which work well for running and skipping however any boxing the heavy bag they fall out overall i'd recommend them for running they are significantly more then $50 - however i've had them for almost 3 years now and they still work well

Before the 'airpod-earpod' craze there was loads of over ear head phone deals i purchased one and they lasted about 12months never fell out cost about $25~ but obviously not super durable

    • I use my Taotronics every day. Great sound and were on $29.99. I initially got the wired noise cancelling ones which are great but the Bluetooth ones are more convenient without having the attached lead.

  • I'm also in the same camp looking for perfect headphones for jogging.

I too have bought the SoundPeats TrueWings for running. It fits great, but just like what you have experienced, charging mechanism failed after 2 months. Contacted the seller via Amazon and to their credit, they sent me a replacement straight away but that again failed after 2 months. Can't be bothered to try again because there's inherent issue with their design. Moreover the touch interface is problematic when it's raining or when you are wearing hooded jacket during winter. So I am looking for headphones with buttons.

Also for running you really want earphones with hook around your ears (especially if you sweat a lot). Those with wing tips just aren't going to stay.

For now I am running with an old pair of iDOO sports headphones — sounds bad, not all that stable, but not too bad for under $10 delivered. I've also ordered an Dacom ARMOR which is in the similar style to the old Mpow Cheetah, which I found very secured when running. I might update once I received the order from Aliexpress.

    • what did you end up getting?

I've been using backbeat fit for years and years - their first gen was amazing and lasted years, second gen a little less great, a third gen, horrible. I've gone thru 2 pairs in 12 months (with a free replacement) and the 2nd pair have just died again after 6 months. I really adored them but it's time to move on.

      • Dacom ARMOR? Not enjoying it as much as the old iDOO one as it's not fitting well. The cable between the ear pieces ended up too long so dangling instead of wrapping around your head.

        • Consider heading more upmarket. You do get what you pay for and the sound quality improvement is significant.

          • @Hybroid: Sound quality does not matter much because it would be used mainly for running (road, park, trial, etc), and I am mainly looking for something that's (1) good fit and (2) durable through all the sweat. Unfortunately whether something is a good fit can be difficult to measure without actually fitting a pair. Durability is even harder to measure, as I had cheap pairs lasting 2 years and relatively more expensive ones, i.e. TrueWings, that die after 2 months.

  • Looking for advice on this too. I bought some TWS bluetooth aliexpress ipod buds for $20 and they lasted 4 months. Really convenient before they started having a dodgy connection that wanes and skips.

  • Meizu EP51

  • Thanks all - gives me some options.

  • I've got the Jabra Elite 65. They are really good quality water-resistant too which is good for sweat/sports aspect.

They are noise cancelling and also have the outside sound passthrough so you can hear what's going on outside if you are going for a run/ride (can be handy). I paid about 200+ over a year ago and don't regret it at all. But since the 75 have been out for a while there's been some deals here at around the $100 mark.

I know it's twice your budget, but it's a reputable brand and good build construction. I think you'd get much better value in the long term.

  • Anyone got an update on what they are using? Got into running and getting annoyed with my cabled headphones…
