Flagship Phone for Purchase

Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a new phone when possible. I'm looking to purchase outright if possible with my budget being $1000~ if I were to do so.

I've looked into getting the Samsung S10, iPhone XS/XR or the new SE 2020. I've heard talk of the Pixel 4a but I've read somewhere that we may be getting that in about 2 months time which is longer than what I am willing to wait at this point in time.

Ideally the phone will have a pretty decent battery, I wouldn't say I'm a heavy user but I'd like to get atleast a day or day and a half out of it. According to my Pixel 2XL's "digital wellbeing" I've had nearly 6hrs of screentime today with my average being ~8hrs. Usually due to social media apps such as Messenger, Reddit, Insta, etc. Other ideal features would be 128gb of storage. 64gb isn't bad but I prefer to store my photos and videos and stuff on my phone instead of the cloud. The additional storage would also help for downloaded movies and songs as well. The phone must also run pretty well and be able to last for a good couple years too. Lastly, cameras obviously has to be pretty good. I'm not expecting iPhone 11 Pro Max camera quality, just pretty damn good.

Note: 8hrs is actually a pretty damn high usage I reckon. But I tend to have my screen at half-max brightness 24/7 so it evens out I think??

Any help would be appreciated :)

If you're gonna be scrolling through Reddit and social media, you're gonna want a phone bigger than 4.7inches ahem iPhone SE 2020

Is SE actually considered a flagship phone? I thought it was a budget offering, at least by iPhone standards.

    • Apparently it has pretty damn good specs, with a poorer camera in comparison to the iPhone 11's. At Officeworks it's only $827 right now which is well within my budget and pretty decent to boot. Downside being a 4.7in screen which a previous commenter has pointed out

      • It's the same specs as iphone 11, just in a iphone 8 body and camera.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it isn’t good. In fact it would be my pick if I had new phone money, however I just didn’t think it counted as flagship due to what you mentioned.

        • That's totally understandable, I wasn't too sure either. I gotta admit I only included it due to it being a recent addition to the iPhone haha.

    $1000~

    Pick one.

New iPhones are rumoured coming out Sept/Oct and there's a 6.1 inch which might fit your requirements if you can wait.
