Wusthof have a lifetime sharpening guarantee which makes it more value for money if you don't like sharpening your own knives
How does one access the lifetime sharpening guarantee?
To get the free lifetime sharpening, you contact Fackelmann (Wusthof Australian distributor I assume) on 1800709714 or facebook msg. They will send you a form by email (or facebook msg). You would need to fill up the form and send it to their Sydney address along with your knife/knives at your cost (postage). They will sharpen the knife and send it back to you at a fixed postal cost of $13.50. They sharpen the knives for free but the postal cost is out of your pocket. They don't have any sharpening service in Melbourne. I got 6 pieces of different Wusthof knives and I send them together for sharpening so it works well for me, however if you have only 1 knife, it might not be so economical. For Sydney siders, they might be able to drop off the knife to them but I am not sure about it. Hope it helps
@John K: Good man John. Thanks for the detailed explanation.
So only the return postage is covered for $13.50 - effectively you pay $x to post to sydney + $13.50 for return postage?
@Eggsperential: You got it. You pay the cost to post them to Sydney and then you also pay a fixed return cost of $13.50. Wusthof sharpen the knives for free but they don't cover the postage cost.
@John K: For us Sandgropers, you used to be able to go through Milners (https://www.shop.milners.com.au) and send your knives to Kewdale. I haven't used the service for a while so couldn't tell you if it's still available there.
Wusthof Classic are like light sabres. Old school German quality I would highly recommend I have had mine for years. I can't speak for global I have never owned them.
Sharpen them occasionally and hand wash them and you'll never need to find out if any other brand is good or not.
oh missed it… they not relisting :(
Showing $9.9 postage, total $310.86, how does one get free delivery?
