ASUS PA32UC 32inch 4K HDR Colour Pre-Calibrated IPS Monitor $2299 + Delivery @ Scorptec

80

I was looking at a monitor upgrade primarily for office / photo editing and came across this deal. Asus have their 2020 PA32UCX model coming soon so it looks like these are a runout special. Most reviews seems quite positive but all seem to recommend calibration as the presets aren't great.

Mwave have this same monitor @ $3499: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/asus-proart-pa32uc-32-4k-hd…

  • Whoa that is pretty much the perfect monitor if you don't game, with a price to match.

    • Sure some Dells are the same but a little less expensive

      Eg https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-ultrasharp-32-ultra-hd-…
Most specs (that matter) are the same or very similar for over a grand less. You can find these cheaper at times as well

      • dont forget 10% cashback

      • I'll a fan of Dell too, the Ultrasharps never stop.

The Dell doesn't support Thunderbolt+USB-C yet (the Asus listed does) - I'm guessing their next iteration will.

        • Correct it's an "older" model. Dell's naming formula usually means the last two digits are when the monitor was released (disclaimer, I own this Dell and indeed bought it a few years ago) so this one is from 2016.
The 27" version was updated this year and on paper is great:

Hopefully the 32" version will be updated soon as well.

    • Wait, why is this one not suited for games?

4K resolution is generally unnecessary at this size and is more difficult to drive (requires higher end GPU to get the same FPS). Also, it's not a high refresh rate monitor (most high end gamers want at least 120Hz). There's also no gsync/freesync for variable refresh rate without tearing.

        • Thanks. yeah i read the specs and realised that.
Currently using the Acer Predator X34P and can see why this monitor would lack.
Great for those who will use it for work.

  • Yikes!

  • This is a great price. FALD 320 zones, 1000nit brightness

This is a bit more than what I spent on my gaming laptop and QHD 144hz monitor…
    I guess horses for courses

    • Missed that one.

      • just note Scorptec raised their RRP prices during Covid by average 10-15%

  • Linus Tech Tips has reviews for both the old one: https://youtu.be/eFNz_M3F0Ms

And the new one (looks like be triple that price but could be worth it for video editors): https://youtu.be/6TOEWPDrnwQ

  • Scorptec’s price is now $1999,- and I might just decide to pick up one for this price…

    • this is the pa329c though (vs pa32uc)

      • You’re absolutely right. I wanted to edit my comment after I realised my mistake but could no longer edit it. Thanks for the correction!

  • no longer available, just purchased from mwave for 2099 https://www.mwave.com.au/product/asus-proart-pa32uc-32-4k-hd…

    • Thanks a lot for this heads up. I was about to buy from an eBay seller for $2,599 so you just saved me a bunch of money!

      • no probs! it looks like it is a group deal and we have to wait until all promo stock is sold ? (currently 22% left)

        • +1

I wasn’t aware of that - but I’m not in a hurry. I already have a 30” and a 27” display on my desk ;) I ordered yesterday and will now lean back and wait…
