Small Fast Drying Bath Towels

I'm on a minimalist kick. So I am seeking small fast-drying bath towels. Ideally, they would be smaller than my current 120 x 65 cm towels, but -super-thinness would be an alternative. Also, I heard that some are less prone to getting that mildew smell since they dry fast and are made from special material. Alternatively, cheap ones (e.g. Big W have $2.75 towels!) can be chucked away regularly, but need to be small and fast drying. Any suggestions? TIA.
EDIT: I'm looking for bath towels that I can travel with (minimalist), not travel towels.

Just google 'Travel Towel', plenty of Microfiber options that are quick drying and ultra compact - not really ideal for around the home though.

    • I've seen those used for drying hair at home?

I travel with similar to these, but I normally get the large. They don’t take up much room and they dry fast. The only downside is they don’t seem to be as absorbent.

  • I've used the Kathmandu microfibre travel towels when backpacking and they dry very quickly but I'm sure any brand is fine

    • Probably all made in the same place and privately labelled.

Bought a couple of those Kathmandu's microfibre towels & absolutely hated them due to the non absorbent factor. Ok if you are travelling and have to bring your own towel, but other than that, not really.

  • Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm looking for bath towels, not travel towels.

    • Just wondering why you aren’t interested in the travel towels?

      • They have bags and ties connected to them, judging by the Katmandu ones. But if there was a travel towel that looked fine in the bathroom, then I suppose that's okay.

They come in the bag but the bag isn’t connected. You could look at Sheridan and Adair’s they both claim fast dry towels. We have used Sheridan ones and they seem to work pretty good. In our experience the towels aren’t the mildew “smell factor” it is the bath mats.

What's minimalist about a fast drying towel?

You could basically use a small hand towel if you want, just wring it out a few times as you dry off.
This works better than you'd think, but sucks in winter

    • Small towels get wetter so they need to be faster drying to use again later. Hand towel is too small, but good in summer.

I saw Kmart had some Gym towels today, they might fit the bill, same size as your current ones but were quite thin and cheap https://www.kmart.com.au/product/gym-towel---assorted/978302

    • I'll give these a try. They are small and received good reviews. Thanks.

  • My pregnant non-wife partner has suggested to take Turkish Towels.

They are super-thin, really light (unlike her), thick (also unlike her fat belly), absorbent, take up no space (unlike her) and dry really quickly.

    The kids had them.

They also work well as a light travel blanket (unlike Michael Jackson's son).

    Just sayin
