[QLD] Arnotts Biscuits Marie 250gms - $0.10, Custard Creams $0.20, Vanilla Wafers $0.20 @ Coles West End

560

Crazy cheap so I had to share. They have loads of biscuits on clearance at Coles West End. Looks like they are clearing out lots of snacks. Maybe you can bake a cake with them?

The Marie biscuits are on the end of an aisle on the far corner near the toiletries - not the biscuit aisle

Also have:

Custard creams $0.20
Vanilla wafers $0.20

Just Maries and Custard Cream? Any Scotch Fingers or Kingstons ?? !! (trying to assess whether this is a "des(s)ert your desk now"-level emergency or "wait til lunchtime")

    • +1

      Not sure about the others

They had peckish rice cracker packets for $0.40.

They had a LOT of stock so probably not gonna be cleared about before lunch

Edit: apparently only 10 packs left

    No bake cheesecake. Enough said.

I was just about to post the same. I use this recipe and it is really nice. Usually serve with tinned blueberries on top and a bit of cream on the side.

Nice deal OP, my only comment would be to learn to rotate your photo 90 degrees before posting….makes my neck sore! :)

P.S. Ex desktop publisher and this was always one of my bugbears! I once had a baseball club year book to put together with about 200 photos and they were almost ALL in the wrong orientation. This was back in the early days too when my PC only had 16Mb of RAM….that's right Mb! It took about 20 seconds to rotate each pic!!!

    • +1

Haha sorry! I did it on my phone and it wasn’t rotated until I uploaded it…

      Fixed it actually

Just got some, thanks op. As of 10:30 I can see about 10 packs left of Marie biscuits

    • +1

Awesome thanks for the update. That whole aisle end was full of them this morning

      • +1

Yes good point, the custard creams are hiding at the end of the aisle at the back of the store, I think on the tp aisle? And there are probably 200 of them

        • +1

Also, Vanilla Wafers Biscuits also 20c for 125g packs.
They are just below the Arnott's Marie biscuits which are now sold out (Thanks to me) :D

You would see an empty holder box but there is a hidden box behind, with about 50 packs still there. Anyone who likes Vanilla Wafers may go and grab them.

OP / Moderators may update title of this deal if suitable.

          • @djoz: Thanks mate. How do I do strike through on the heading?

            • +2

@doggmatic: Not sold out yet. I was there around 12:30:

              • only 1 pack of peckish crackers (6x20g packs) 40c on the end of the biscuits aisle. But maybe about 5 more packets on the shelves themselves, very top shelf, right next to the end of the aisle.
              • lots of marie biscuits on the end of the TP aisle (slightly to the right of aisle 6?) - have a pic for proof if needed
              • vanilla wafers & custard cream biscuits on the end of the aisle left of the TP aisle. weren't too many vanilla wafer packs left but heaps of custard creams. Also vanilla wafers in the biscuits aisle behind the empty box as previous poster noted

Office concensus: Marie biscuits are a bit like arrowroot and a bit boring but good for dipping in tea (I'd never tried them before), the custard creams and wafers are surprisingly good.

              • @mathematicalcoffee: Ah, great. Yes the store is not that well organised, they keep random things in random aisles.

The Post Description mentions Vanilla Wafers as $0.25. It should be $0.20 if someone could please correct. The Post Title is correct though.

              • @mathematicalcoffee: Awesome write-up!

I got these Custard Cream Biscuits at 50c last week from Coles West End.

Also, at Coles Indooropilly on Saturday 13-Jun, I got:
Chocolate Creams (Bourbon) 200g for 25c
    Malted Milk 200g for 25c

Bought total 15 packs of the above.

Probabaly clearing them out to then only stock Coles brand replacements…..

Marie are Arnotts, Custard Cream & Vanilla Wafer are Coles brand. Expiry between Sep to Nov 2020 in the packets I bought. Did not taste stale (actually the coles ones taste pretty good!)

    • +1

Yes, the Coles Brand Custard Creams Biscuits always tasted good. They were anyway my regular for $1 per 200g pack. I found it cheap enough to buy at full price. With it being cut to 50c few weeks ago, I got 4 packs, and now at 20c, I again got 4 packs. Makes for a good bite when you are just bored, or as a dessert alternative.

On the contrary, the Coles Chocolate Creams (Bourbon) that I picked up from Coles Indooropilly last Satuday, have very less cream in them. Tastes quite well though. Was a great bargain for 25c per 200g pack. Picked up 5 of them.

Marie - oh well, the childhood biscuit. Have had them a lot when I was a kid, they're supposed to be healthy. 10c was too good a deal to be missed for 250g packs, Picked up 4 today :-)

    Fattening the curve…..

Marie biscuits definitely not sold out!

I was just at the store and found boxes of them. They are hiding at the end of the toiletries/cosmetics isle. I restrained myself and only bought one pack. Enjoy!

    • Good call! that’s where I saw heaps of them.
