I am looking for a SATA cable for my laptop and I have the part number. where do you generally end up getting the parts from?
I am after a "912jy - assy,cbl,hdd,con,5482" which is a connector for SATA internal HDD to laptop.
I have tried with CPL, no luck

Agreed. If you can find part number it is easy to find. Or if it is a common laptop (company bulk buy Dell, HP, Lenovo) by laptop model and description.

Perhaps ask at a computer repair business???…they will possibly have spares from broken laptops…my repair guy does…

If its Dell you will struggle to find a reseller. Dell do most of their parts direct.
How about for HP parts? I have a piece I'm struggling to locate
I tried a minute of googling without much luck. Do you have a picture of it? Generally the computer parts are pretty standard and may work for you.
