Hi all, to fix the PSN issue, follow these steps (I just did it and it worked perfectly, no login needed in GOG, auto connected)

avatarBustacap: workaround until they fix it:

    • log in to PSN (store.playstation.com) through your browser

    • after the login open this link: https://ca.account.sony.com/api/v1/ssocookie
      Copy content of "npsso"

    • open windows explorer and enter the following into the address bar at the top and press enter
      %LocalAppData%\GOG.com\Galaxy\plugins\installed\

    • open the psn_{random number} folder and edit the plugin.py file with your favourite text editor

    • go to line 64 and change value stored_npsso to copied "npsso" for example:

    Was:
    stored_npsso = stored_credentials.get("npsso") if stored_credentials else None

    Is:
stored_npsso = "Copied value of npsso"
(the quotation marks " " are important!)

    • restart GOG Galaxy
    • try connecting with PSN again

      Works fine. Thx a lot
  • Hi all noob question, does it work if you have physical disc on PS4. I bought it brand new on launch, and sitting on my pile of shame. I have moved to PC gaming now.

    • Yes

      • Yes.. if you have played the game on PS4 and it appears on the trophy list.
No.. if it just sat on the pile of shame and never made it to the trophy list.. you could still play and get it on the list just to redeem this deal :)

  • Damn, should've pulled the trigger during the $8 epic sale

I have GOTY in steam but GOG only gives me base version after redemption.

Any idea how to fix this?

    • +1

Unfortunately not, as the GOTY version on Steam is not an actual version, it was just a store bundle of the individual base game, plus the individual DLCs. GOG doesn't detect the DLC, it just sees the base game.

Same thing happened to me, Not a big problem, we can still play the full edition on PC.

      • Oof, thanks for the info, was wondering about this :(

  • Does anyone know if this works if I have the disc version on PS4?
Really keen to try on my new PC.

    • Same new PC so keen to try, have the GOTY PS4 disc version. Worked for me, just I had issues connecting my PSN, solution is higher up posted by another user.

Unfortunate that the GOTY edition on Steam doesnt translate to the GOTY edition on GOG, would be nice to have DRM free DLCs.

The Steam GOTY is just a bundle of The Wild Hunt (base game) with the separate DLCs, whereas on GOG it's a seperate product, with some script differences. So when you go to claim on GOG, it detects Wild Hunt, but none of the DLC.

Obviously not a big problem at all, just an observation.

    • yep, just verified with same experience.

I don't own this but I played it on gamepass once and my Xbox and windows account are linked to gog which appears to have lifted the trophy data and assumes I own the game.

So free game because I played it on gamepass.

  • always wanted to play this game. anyone with a spare GOG key and willing to donate to a kind soul?

Thanks for this. I havent played PC games since… 2005ish, but I've just gone through and revived my various gog/steam/ubi/origin/etc accounts with free games from here and linked them up along with my Xbox account.

Very useful for a consolidated view of what games I have during sales!

    • Same. As soon as I linked everything to GOG Galaxy I was like oh man, I do actually own a lot of games I'd like to play.

  • thanks, what to do with the second copy?

    • Gift it to a friend, one of the posters above, or even me!

  • This worked with the Xbox Game Pass version.
    Thanks OP!
Now to wait for a good deal on the expansion pass

  • On gamepass I can't wait to be done with the game, don't see what the fuss is about this game.

I enjoyed Witcher 1 when it was on pc, because it was a rough gem with absolutely no idea who or what geralt is.

    Gwent I like.

Ok fine witchers a good game, it's just feels like it has to much filler.

  • Just putting my hand up for a copy if anyone has no friends (or just wants to make a new one).

  • Thanks it worked.

  • According to reddit, steam goty issue has been solved, I redeemed it in the morning, although the redemption page still says standard edition, but I got goty at gog.

  • So is it possible to gift this to a friend?

I have a friend that has Witcher 3 on steam and has connected his steam account to GOG but apparently it says that the free version will be activated on his GOG account?

Is the giftable code only available to people who have Witcher on GOG AND a different platform?

    • Yes.

I have the GOTY on steam but it reckons I only have the basic bitch version. What gives?

    • According to https://www.reddit.com/user/-chandra-/ if you're already claimed the basic version, they aren't going to give you another copy.

But since yesterday, GOG now lists that I have Witcher 3 AND newly Witcher 3 GOTY edition.

When I click on GOTY edition, the claim a free copy bit does not say GOTY edition. I don't know if that's because it is still in the process of being fixed OR if the just used the same bit of text for both editions.

Update: Just opened the "Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Game of the Year Edition" from my Owned list, redeemed, and yes, it gave me the correct GOTY edition. ✌😁

  • If you're getting Wild Hunt only, don't forget to get this:
    https://www.gog.com/game/the_witcher_3_wild_hunt_free_dlc_pr…

  • Seem like you can only claim a free PC copy, if you own it on Steam, EPIC, Origin, PS4, Xbox.

  • I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. I own Witcher 3 on Epic (PC). I connected my Epic account to my GoG Galaxy account(PC), but there is no notification, no pop up.

Does the game have to be installed (not just owned) for it to be redeemed? It has been sitting in my to do list for a while, but I have not installed it yet.

    • And it just popped up a seconds after I wrote the above. Disregard! :)
