- plumber or electrician or both will be needed

  • any specific brand to buy to have reduced noise level and greater coverage for air flow

  • is there is any site where all brands listed to find which one fit per the existing set up.

  • plumber or electrician or both will be needed

Most of these are just plug in not hard wired so don't see why you need electrician.

Not certain, but don't think you need a plumber for venting a range hood.

    • I spoke to the plumber (phone) he seems to be pushing towards the electrician, may be he don't want to do as I mentioned that i need roof vented.

He passed his brother in law # and said wall side vent is better as no chance of rook leak (if any) by this set up.

An electrician can do all the work, including ducting. It's actually not that hard, I've replaced my rangehood myself etc. Yes most will have a plug so you wouldn't need an electrician. If you're handy with tools, get a hole saw with appropriate diameter, cut and vent. The size of the duct will dictate the size of the hole, e.g. 600cfm = 6-inch duct, 900cfm = 7 inch duct etc.

Issues? Well the duct itself will normally be visible if you run it from cabinet to ceiling (unless you can vent it via wall). If that's the case, you might need a bulkhead / cornice to cover. That's normally a plasterer that will do that kind of work, and a painter to finish it off. Again, it will depend on how handy you are with tools - I've done my own and looks okay … just have to YouTube lots lol.

  • I think you can DIY if you know how to do it.

If not you need a handyman, no hard wiring is required.

I do know someone from Sydney can help and it should be around $300 - $500 job plus GST, but I don't know anyone from your location 'BUSY'.

    • I am not that confident in making hole etc for the vent, plus don't have tools required.

I will be installing recirculated model again, can do it as will be plug and play type thing.

      my location Melbourne (eastern)

  • What’s behind the wall it’s screwed to? Is it external?

    • I think it's screwed to the cabinet. Behind the wall is open space ( external area isnop n space)

If it’s external wall you could go 90* bend straight thru the wall, as long as there is no stud in the centre of cabinet.
Old hood would probably still work, it would have a partial cut out in sheet metal that you can’t see as it’s against the shelf. The plastic collar has probably been thrown away years ago. Probably just as easy to buy new hood, ones technika quality aren’t expensive.
