Amazfit Pace on sale for $93.19 and comes with an extra watch band. The black band with extra black band is out of stock, but I just got the black band with extra red band and maybe I'll use the red one once in a while.

Don't be like me and forget to trigger shopback! Price is $97.67 + 8.88 GST - 8.91 store coupon - 4.45 aliexpress coupon = $93.19 for the maths

I lost my Amazfit Bip over the weekend and was devastated until I found this deal. Until recently it was about $148 so this is about 30% off.

I have had mine for like 4 years so happy to answer any Qs. My rating is 10/10 but smart watches and usage scenario vary so it might not be right for you.

    My biggest likes

    1. Always on trans reflective screen, none of that wrist shaking to wake crap.
    2. 10-12 days between charges, I have airplane mode on most of the time. Drops to 5 days if BT is on.
    3. Well built quality, ceramic body hasn't had a scratch after 4 years of everyday wear.
    • Awesome! To be honest I was a bit concerned of the difference in battery life between the Bip (around 30 days) to the Pace rated at 5 days. With airplane mode on that's not too bad. With the no scratch condition, did you use like a screen protector? I managed to scratch my Bip a bit over the last 2 years of use.

      • Also can you use the 4GB storage for something else other than music, because Id imagine on my runs, I'd still take my phone because I like podcasts.

Like can you install games / apps?

        • No you can't put files other than mp3 and GPX files on the onboard storage. This is more of a watch and less smart in that respect. This runs a customised OS, not your wearOS etc which does mean it's not as open.

          No installing games/apps. Arguably… this is a watch…

          • @hippo2s: Pretty sure you could put any files on it when I had one. You certainly could drop in custom watch faces to the relevant folders.

I do have round screen protector on the face, so that's stayed good. they are like a dollar or 2 each, so a cheap investment.

    • Can you use it for swimming or going for a dip in the ocean?

      • it's got a IP67 rating meaning "Protection against full immersion for up to 30 minutes at depths between 15 cm and 1 metre (limited ingress permitted with no harmful effects)."

        Probably advise against it though.

      • i've used it while swimming in the local pool, in the shower, no issues. There's never any guarantee tho - it's not like you can claim warranty based on IP rating. Not even with a smartphone sold locally.

Fine in the shower etc. But a quick swim killed mine. Probably not worth the risk.

    • Does this get notifications from the phone? Incoming calls/messages/emails etc

      • +1

        Yea it does

        • Thanks.
Now to decide between this or the Bip..

  • Whats dile size?

The Bip S is also on sale for $114AUD.

    • Hmm what's the Bip S? I think I saw the Bip and Bip Lite go for around $80

      • +1

Bip S is the newer Bip. Has GPS and about 40 days battery life. It looks like the old Pebble before Shitbit bought them out. It has a paper screen.

If you want a more tough look there is Stratos and Stratos 2, the GTR. I prefer this look tho, it's alot more sauve and goes well with casual smart/business/fitness theme better than super tough, roughered look of the others. The Bip ones does look a little toy-ish, but i respect that we all have different tastes.

  • This is compatible with Strava right?

    • Not directly, but you can sync workouts with the Amazfit app then set it to sync to Strava. Strava can then sync to Health app in iOS (assuming similar for Android).
