Not sure if i feel safe storing my photos on a rejected microSD card. Seems risky

Good for non-critical stuff like local music files, saves space on fast main storage.

You will never know when you might need to utilize that space for something else during emergencies.

I do agree but not because it is a 'reject' but because iDigital is not a well known brand. You're always better off with a samsung or similar where data is important but just because it is at the "reject shop" doesn't mean it is a 'reject' they sell grey imports, discontinued stock, stuff they get in bulk from other stores and other things like that basically the same as the old stores like Go-Lo and Crazy Prices.

“The Reject Shop often based itself on procuring cancelled orders and oversupplied products and tapping into parallel-sourced products manufactured for the Indonesian or Filipino market for example,” he said.

“It will source those products and supply them in store at a cheaper price than many other stores.”

the cards (and usb drives) are outsourced (ADATA) and rebranded as iDigital (a brand name that The Reject Shop uses for electrical stuff)

I bought one myself and seems to hold up with use

they used to be on their website but not now

  • I wonder if these will be good cards to store switch games on.

    • That's exactly what I was thinking of using it for! I need an SD card for my switch

    • +3

You can store games on them but they may corrupt your data and be very slow considering the price and this is from an unknown company.

    • For 5 bucks these sd cards are probably slow and prone to errors meaning i wouldn’t put stuff onto it that constantly needs to read from the sd, these are probably best for just storing movies and music and stuff like that.

For switch games id recommend spending the money and just getting a name brand SD, plus 64 gigs is a little small for the switch as alot of game downloads are usually 15-20 gigs in size if not more so i’d say go for a 128 gig sd.

  • Ooof 5 mins away, I should grab a couple

"iDigital" sounds really dodgy. Never heard of them before
    heck they are even rejects

Cheap memory cards make great gifts for your enemies.

Don't use this card for critical data… use at your own risk.

  • +1

Never heard about the brand, but it is cheap.

i've bought from Reject shop before.. their USB storage is either fake or faulty as i had purhcased 3 lots of 16gb usb thumbdrives for a project.. and they all copied at about 1.5mb per second. I would stay clear of these..

I would love to see some h2testw reports using these cards, if anyone can be bothered.

Makes me feel bad for selling a 2GB microSD card for $5 to an unsuspecting fellow on Gumtree… yikes!

    • +1

You knowing sold a fake SD card with a fake advertised storage size to someone?

      • +1

No, I told him it's a legit 2GB and it was in a perfect working condition (it actually was). No lies.
Just feel bad for not telling he is overpaying way too much for it.

        • +1

Ah okay, that makes more sense so they were suspecting(?) not unsuspecting. They knew the size before purchase and went ahead regardless 😏

        • But was he ? very hard to find a micro sd for $5.00 or under and if you only need 2gb or under then you're not over paying I would love to buy 1or 2 gb sd cards for under $5.00 I use them in my headphones to listen to music while working and quite often have less than 1gb on an 8 or 16 gb card
