  • … and if you want Assassins Creed Odyssey it's $10 at Target.

    • Nationwide?

      • I thought all Targets are priced the same? It was amongst the clearance items. Black Ops IV was also $10

        • No, no, no, no. You can get clearance items in one target but not the rest. Sometimes they have a clearance or sale in all but that is more the exception.

  • Hmm Day's Gone tempting…

    • +1

Get it. I bought it about a week ago and have been playing it every single day (it's a 40GB digital download, in case you're wondering). Incredibly well-made game, and most of the performance problems that plagued it at launch have been fixed. It's a more "grounded" and serious kind of open world game, unlike the sillyness that pervades the Far Cry series, so I'm enjoying this far more than the typical Ubisoft fare. The story telling is decent though not amazing, but it really does try earnestly. Be warned that this can be quite a long game though.

I've heard it's typically 50-60 hours if you don't skip the side missions. I'm probably about halfway to 2/3 of the way through and it hasn't worn me out yet, which is unusual for an open world game. Also, I would characterise this as a "guided" open world game, which means certain areas will be locked off to you until you get to a certain stage of the story. You can explore many areas on your own, but generally speaking it's not necessary as the main missions and side missions will place you there as needed.

Check out SkillUp's review if you're still not sure, and bear in mind that the problems he mentions have been patched out and fixed now.

      • Worth mentioning that the shooting mechanics are quite similar to the ones in Naughty Dog games such as Uncharted and The Last of Us — not terrible, but a little awkward to be sure. I haven't found them to be a detriment, unlike SkillUp.

Also, Days Gone is a breathtakingly beautiful game — the developers, Bend, are actually based in Oregon so this is basically a love story to their state.
