Sonos Arc Soundbar Speaker Black / White $1172 + Delivery or Free C&C @ The Good Guys Commercial (Membership Required)

160

Been looking for a new soundbar and came across the new Sonos Arc available in the Good Guys Commercial website.

I think its the best price I can find for the Sonos Arc and doesn't rely on getting store credits or items that you may not want - just an instant $227 off RRP.

You can get membership through certain organisations such as Sunsuper.

If you can price match the commercial site in store, you may be able to get it even cheaper if you have access to discounted Good Guys gift cards for an extra 5% bringing it down to $1,113.40 which is around 20% off RRP - pretty good for a newly released Sonos I think.

Lots of reviews out there, but seems generally pretty positive:

  • How is this compared to SN11RG?

    • same question i have too..

    • Also wondering this. Looking to upgrade in the coming months but want some comparisons - leaning towards my first foray into the Sonos ecosystem, but want to see how the SN11RG kit stacks up first! I don't know what differences to expect in audio/Atmos quality.

      • did you guys end up getting Sonos Arc or SN11RG? and why?

  • Shows $1161 + delivery for me.. both black and white.

BTW, how do you use TGG gift cards on the Commercial site? I couldn't see an option… just credit cards and PayPal options avaailable.

I dont think you can use Gift cards at the commercial site, I have usually price matched at the store and then paid using the Gift card. Hope this helps.

  • The preorder with JB Hifi was almost as good as you got a $200 gift card.

Not really as the gift card can only be used for another Sonos product.

  • Pretty good deal from a retailer. I just received mine from Sonos 3 days ago and paid $1189 thanks to the 15% Unidays discount code, which imo is already a decent deal for a newly-launched soundbar.

    • whats the verdict on the arc versus what you previously had?

I had a Beam which I sold (got it via one of the Amazon deal for $505 and sold for $450, used for 3 months) and replaced with the Arc. The Arc (which is not unexpected given it costs twice as much as the Beam) given the additional drivers (Beam has 5 and the Arc has 11 + 2 additional up-firing speakers) sounded much more immersive and provided a much wider soundstage, in addition to clarity too. I am no audiophile but can definitely hear the difference. My primary motivation in getting the Arc was for clarity at higher volumes and I found the Beam sounded muddy at times and often being over-powered by the surrounds (I ran a 5.1 setup with a Sub and 2x One SLs). Atmos is a bonus of course as my usage is only limited to streaming services via the native TV apps - Netflix, Prime and Disney+. Atmos albeit lossy worked well on my 2018 LG OLED 65C8 with no dramas - tested extensively with a number of Atmos-enabled shows like F1: Drive to Survive and Black Panther. I am running my setup in an enclosed room (with sliding doors) with ceiling height of 2.8m and room size of approx. 17m2.

Bass-wise I still find it lacking with the Arc (it's still a soundbar afterall) - maybe I am just too used to the lows provided by the Sub. Definitely punchier than a Beam though although I have not tested the Playbar. Having said that, I believe it should suffice for most folks, especially those who lives in a unit for example as the Sub could be too powerful for some and it's not cheap either, even discounted you are looking at an additional $850.

Wanted the Playbar originally and not the Beam but it was too old for me (no HDMI-ARC) therefore glad I waited and got the Beam in the interim which for its price point, I have no complains. In fact, I am still running a 5.1 setup with Beam as the soundbar in the open-plan living room which does a phenomenal job filling the area and covering such a large space (about 30m2). The Beam really shines when its paired with a Sub and/or Surrounds as it can focus on what it does best ie. midrange and dialogs.

        Beam (5 drivers - 1x tweeter; 4x midrange subs; 3x passive radiators)
        68.5cm (H) x 65.1cm (W) x 10cm (D)

        Arc (11 drivers - 3x tweeters; 8x midrange; 2x upfiring midrange)
        87cm (H) x 114cm (W) x 11.6cm (D)

For what it's worth, I was adamant in getting the Samsung Q90R 7.1.4 setup but I was already heavily-invested in the Sonos ecosystem - have them around the house (mostly Ones) and recently got a Move. The Samsung Q90R did blew my socks off when I auditioned it last year but unfortunately the issues of rear speakers disconnecting etc. been frustrating for some and I decided not to risk it. Plus the beauty of a Sonos system is, it will last you years. They don't launch new, replacement products every year and your purchase won't be obsolete like within 12-24 months. The Playbar, Sub Gen 1, Play:1 etc where all launched in the early 2010s and and only got replaced by a newer product recently. Plus, they are still being supported by way of software updates up till this day and expected to be in years to come.

    • Can anyone use the code or do you need to be logged into Unidays?

  • I don't think you can use discounted GC on commercial site. Happy to be corrected.

  • i was wondering if this + sonos su is gonna be much better than the ozbargain favourite yamaha 2700. Can't decide which to buy

  • How does this compare to the Samsung q90r ?

  • This or the LG SN9YG? TGGC has that for $874

  • Very big ask

Anyway I can login without being for gg commercial?

    Thanks!

  • Commit to Sonos. Best thing I ever did now I hAve 10 speakers throughout the house.

I hand a shitty Sony soundbar that the rears kept disconnecting drove me nuts. Sonos hasn’t disconnected once in years now. Bloody brilliant!

  • Sadly I do t have the commercial account.

  • No option to pay with gift card on TGG Commercial. If anyone in Brisbane needs help getting one at this price, just PM me.

  • finally one i can get,
    $1150 through Ambassador Card + $9.90 freight
