@Lysander: there are KOF game in ios and android, however its not the same as the original arcade edition.

They made a lot of money from Fortnite. Pretty smart way to use it.

@timps: while that's true, the engine revenue is longer lasting (since the engine doesn't go out of fashion). Fortnite's popularity has been waning of late - still a money maker, but definitely losing market share to newer games, and over time, will fade like every other game.
Epic's plan, i bet, is to leverage the current success of fortnite (face it, it was a lottery ticket win for epic) into a more stable future revenue stream by investing in the unreal engine, and in the store. A pretty good plan tbh.
New total war free for one day only in August will be a big one.
Hey, I'm on mobile and when I click on the "Get" link, it just sends me to the game's main page. I'm stuck in a loop.
Same with me on both mobile and desktop. Says Ark and Samurai showdown are free but keep getting kicked back to the store page and can't checkout

This is why I don't pay for games anymore :) I may need to pay for a computer upgrade to run all of these game though.

Anyone has experience with installation failed on EPIC game launcher?
Not failed to install, but the launcher fails to run on my win 10 laptop error 0007b something. Which I understand to be a lack of current drivers or .dll files. Have not found a successful fix. Super frustrating.
Is this similar to your issue?
Pathway is great! It's a nice blend of XCOM style combat and Faster Than Light exploration.
Got The Escapist from a previous epic giveaway. Thought I might have to buy the sequel. Good thing I waited. :D

Why does this game get so many upvotes? Its graphics is bad, like from a really old nindendo and its just realeased. Even contra and mario looked better. And most of us will just add this to library and probably never even play it. I am not complaining, just asking why almost 300 votes?
Because this is OzBargain and gamers here have an addiction with large game libraries. I know because I'm one of them.

It's really fun, I've got it on switch and my only complaint is the controls.. Hence why I'm waiting for this.
Are you saying that about the escapist 2? It was released like a year or 2 ago and the graphics is a design choice. Not all games are made to be photorealistic. Minecraft, one of the biggest games of all times is literally about box shaped objects with low poly counts.

Minecraft is in a league of its own. It was an old game and to add to this it also allowed players to build worlds, SO MANY options when building, allowed one player to enter other player's world and what not. Cant compare both. I was speaking about the Pathway BTW.
Ok well that's understandable then lol. I had never heard of pathway until this deal, the same still probably applies tho, it's often an artistic choice.
Also, to answer trapper too, Indy studios and smaller studios don't have the budget, manpower and time to make something with hyper realistic graphics. Games that do are made by multi million dollar companies with 100's of staff working on specific parts of the game and those games still take a long time to develop. If an indie studio even tried doing that, they would have to work on it for decades and they would run out of money well before it even gets to the detailed art stage anyway.
@AlmightyBeing: That is all true and I agree, I was simple referring to the upvotes for such a game that most people I know will just add to thier libs and probably never play :) I mean who really has the time when tere are so many AAA games pending to finish for many people :D
@AlmightyBeing: I just tried pathways and immediatly uninstalled it. Why? Such horrible graphics and boring game play. I have decided to never add such games and clutter my library because there is no way I am playing it and there is no way to remove the games permanently from the library!
I also struggle to play games with subpar graphics (PUBG for me).
But games which are designed around 8 bit graphics can be great.

Epic tweeted an update saying they are still working on it and it will still go free.
Hopefully they'll just add it onto next week's freebies rather than this week. I'm just use to logging into their app every Friday morning to grab free games now.
We're currently investigating an issue and are working to find a resolution.
Sounds like the 'issue' is that they'd lose too much money and are waiting for most people to forget about it before making it available. Or is that too cynical?

Didnt have time to edit my response before but they could be enjoying increased daily traffic (and consequent sales) from people determined not to miss out on the Escapists 2. But personally I don't think this is the best title for such a trick. I think it's an innocent cock up
