Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Preorder $78 Consoles $72 PC Harvey Norman

230

It's cheaper overseas, but I'm guessing most fans don't want to wait two weeks to play. JB and Dick Smith have this listed for $99.

Im glad they are doing this. If they keep prices around this level for new release games I see no issue at all buying them locally for an extra $20. Support them by getting it at this pricepoint and hopefully they keep it.

  • Be aware its the standard edition of the game, not the hardened edition which contains the following extras for the latter:

    • Call of Duty®: MW3 Game Disc, featuring unique disc art
    • 1 Year Call of Duty®: Elite membership, includes future Call of Duty®: MW3 downloadable game content (inlcuding map packs)
    • Special founder status on Call of Duty: Elite, includes exclusive in-game emblem, playercard, weapon camouflage, clan XP boost, and more exciting benefits
    • Premium, collectible Steelbook™ case
    • Limited edition, collectible field journal chronicling the entire saga with 100+ pages of authentic military sketches, diagrams and entries.

    • How much is that going to be?

It's about $98 preordered. If you trade games into GAME you get an extra 55% trade value.

More of a set for the more committed gamer. The elite membership sounds good as you get all the map packs that come out during the year.

  • Kmarts will prob be even if not cheaper.

  • the cheapest I have seen online/overseas is $66 so very happy to only have to pay $12 to get it on the day save waiting two weeks

  • Cheapest in-store PC is Gamesmen in Penshurst/Penrith/Wollongong $59.99 but that was a couple of months ago. Not sure if they would still sell it for that price

Great price for a new release game locally. I think HN are going hard to grab the games market here in australia. All their brand new release games and preorders are at or below $78. Rage just got released for $64 on consoles! And BF3, Batman arkham city are both $78 pre orders. IF they keep this up I will indeed by local rather than the UK. For an extra $10-$15 it is worth buying local and getting it on the day. The usual extra $20-$40 though is not worth while.

Completely agree with you here, lately HN are trying to capture the gaming market, with their cheap preorders, beating many competitors. Be sure what you are buying, if you want the harden edition or not. Battlefield 3 should come with it's limited edition, in preorders no matter what.

  • Do you need to cancel preorders if you don't want it anymore? I'm thinking of trading in BF3 at JB Hifi to get MW3 free.
