Great tent, I have 2 of them. Very light and brilliant quality. They are a clone of an Agnes or something, that used to sell for the $1000 mark, but since these have hit the market the original ones have dropped to around $500. I have the silicone 20D version - lighter. Make sure to get the upgraded version, the frame is much better in the wind. I have seen some youtube footage of the first one bopping around too much in high winds.

Not sure I got an answer to this last time I asked.

      • Was just thinking he was quick to praise it last time. That said I did grab one then and found it to be really good.

Lol, It's a conspiracy man! As I have said before, I'll post a 'I love it' comment every time ANY product I have paid for and love comes up. I have commented on many things, but for some reason I get the 'are you associated?' question EVERYTIME with this. You figured me out, I'm the guy in country Vic who owns NatureHike, Neewer, Tronsmart, Taotronic and every other company I have ever made a positive comment for. Me and Bill Gates also designed COVID while we shot JFK and faked the moon landings. Sorry to disappoint, I got one of these tents for myself from Aliexpress and liked it so much I bought another for my buddy. I have 6 tents and a Kogan hammock. Oh man, oops sorry now I let on I OWN kogan too. DOH!

Sorry for being skeptical. I'm actually also a fan of Naturehike and regularly use some of their products. It's just that you always seem to post very positive reviews shortly after deals being posted.

          • @dust: Yeah it's because I've rarely been so happy with products as much as the NatureHike ones (except the Taga which is still good for what it is if you want a single skin). It's a bit like Xiaomi but but just less well known.

            • @ShipShapeRC: lol, all good - your feedback last time is part of why i grabbed it. More deja vu when your name came up. Also +1 xiaomi

    • Upgrade version is good, but it is slightly heavier due to the additional frame leg at the foot of the tent. Naturehike also now make a 10D version that is even lighter but has the upgrade frame style.

Gee you seem to know a lot about the product, is this a paid comment?? Seriously though I did not know they have a 10D, that's really thin! The 20D is pretty thin as is. But if weight is a premium, the wight savings vs longevity balances that way.

        • +1

I think you need to tone down your conspiracy theories. Not a paid comment, just a comment from a frequent hiker who owns all 3. If I was paid to comment I'd probably come up with a better endorsement than "is good". These are good tents for the money, but they are a bit heavier than the "brand name" ultralight tents. I haven't been able to try the 10D version yet, due to covid interrupting plans. I agree it's a pretty niche product which prioritises low weight over durability.

          • @blackmagic: Nah mate just having a laugh. I have been slammed about 4 or 5 times for positive comments on these. I would post a positive comment and go on, never come back to notice that each time people were asking if I was associated. After a few times the comments were really getting strong because I was not answering the question. I was too busy getting the kids to school etc. Never expected a big response. A post or 2 back I noticed the comments kept referencing back to me not answering because I never went back to read every comment. It's just interesting how a few "I have 2 and they are great comments" comments over the years made people sure I owned the company or had some affiliation. It's interesting how little data I put out there and the way the OzB community responded. Makes you wonder what other theories that are getting publicity right now are based on such little data.

  • how does this compare to the Naturehike Taga?

    • Oh Man I have 7 tents, I forgot, I bought the Tagar by accident first time. It's even lighter BUT comes at a cost. There is no inner, SINGLE LAYER which mean all your condensation from your breath runs down INSIDE YOUR TENT. It's a piece of poo. You will wake up with wet gear inside the tent. Get the Cloud UP - waaaaay better.

      • That sure is a lot of tents. Which are your favourites and why so many? I was eyeing the Marmot Tungsten, oztrail nomad 1 and some of the zempire tents.

        • Just counted 9 tents + a camping hammock. I have them from cheap k-mart dome to a coleman 3 room one. It nice having the right tent for the job. Been a hiker for over 30 years and as I'm getting older, every gram counts now. Also inherited some tents when my in-law passed recently. I should sell some off really. I think 5 would do me well. Maybe 6. Or just 7. My got to for hiking is this. Family camp, the coleman and or kmart dome depending on number of people. I also have an Aldi 2 man which is really nice, and one I got from Amazon USA when they shipped to AU that was a little heavier than these but had 2 huge vestibules which is handy and I will use with my kids when they get bigger and can carry gear for more days.

  • Why are the different colours different weight?

    • +1

      Different materials.

    • Bloody heavy pigments. Nah, some are rip stop nylon and some are silicon coated nylon (much thinner and lighter yet still pretty strong).

      • Actually the heavier ones are polyester.

Any chance of a deal on the 3 person version?

      Hi,dear customer,
The 3 person version will have a deal tomorrow:
Time: 2020-6-11 11:05 am to 2020-6-11 19:05 pm, please hold the chance!

      • Much appreciated! I will certainly hold the chance. Thanks.

  • +2

I have the older version of this.

For the price it's hard to find anything that comes close to this tent. You are looking at $500+ to better it.

I previously had the OZtrail Starlight 2 which cost a good bit more than the nature hike at the time and that tent was junk compared to the Naturehike with the metal eyelets falling out the pole wholes on the 2nd - 3rd use.

    • +1

Geez don't say that. I did and got targeted for being 'associated'. But yes they are great and yes $500+ to better it.

  • +1

2 person upgrade version is a good tent for the price if anyones on the fence. I use the Lanshan 1 when trying to save weight but if i want to sleep in style (or need the stability), the CU2 gets it

  • I got one to give it a try. will take a lot to beat my lightheart gear solong

  • Nooo I missed it!
