Horse armour pack is still overpriced.

  • Just out of interest, each point is valued at $0.0165…. no matter how many you buy (unless you buy cards on special somewhere like JB's).

So, going by that conversion rate here a 'ready reckoner' of real life pricing:

    50 MSP = $0.825
    100 MSP = $1.65
    200 MSP = $3.30
    400 MSP = $6.60
    800 MSP = $13.20
    1600 MSP = $26.40

Going by these figures, all Fallout 3 Addons can be purchased for $33 (and that's at HALF PRICE as above). But, you can go buy Fallout3 GOTY Edition which has all these addons AND the actual game for about $30 from EB's. Which is what I did… traded in my normal version and purchased the other one for a difference of about $20. As a bonus you have the discs ready to go to reinstall when or if your Xbox ever dies, and you would otherwise have to re-download your online purchases.

I'm a big fan of Bethesda games, probably the best game developer out there for the Xbox…. their games are really polished. But the same cant be said for MS Points folks…. big ripoffs, as to be expected from Micro$oft.

So unfortunately this is neg from me…. not because of Bethesda and their half price points sale, but because even at half price MS Points are overpriced.

    • Really??? Come on mate, 50% off is 50% off. And what about the non fallout 3 content?
      Thx Timski

50% off overinflated price doesnt equal bargain mate.

That's how my mrs thinks at sales! ;)

        • -4

Umm yes it does. Your own perosnal opinon on if its originally 'overinflated' or not does not make something a bargain or not a bargain. And thats hardly justification to neg the deal

most fallout 3 fans prob already have the game, and perhaps some of the dlc already. this is a highly likely scenario. for those people, who may only need 2 or 3 packs of dlc, i'd say this sale is pretty perfect. this deal is not for everyone, as you stated, but its certainly good for some.

          @ scampy

That's just it, it's MY opinion and MY vote… everyone is entitled to one, and that's all the justification I need. I'm not being unfair and I'm not breaking any rules by negging without cause.

          Let's just agree to disagree?

          @ Mik

Fair call mate. For those wanting specific addon's, there is no other viable option and in that respect this is as good as it gets.

        • Having said that, I'm off to find a used copy of Oblivion GOTY…

      • +3

He threw you the numbers and gave a better option and you still call it his opinion?
        Whoaa

    • Well you can pick up the points for $19 at Harvey Norman making it $0.012666… So it is actually $25.33 for all the Fallout 3 add-ons.
I understand if you don't think the prices are fair in the first place but if 50% off doesn't seem like a bargain I don't know what is.

So this actually is cheaper than getting it at EB so please reconsider your vote

      • ANYWHERE else is cheaper than going to EB!

  • Nooooooo! I need to stop wasting money :( :(
