Sydney - Mother or V
Comments
I lived on Mother at university during exam periods. In terms of special deals, my local Coles (Manly) has 4 pack 250ml Red Bull cans for $8. Sorry i don't have anything better.
I drink V cans 1-3 250mL cans per day. (Please no comments on health risks)
Anyways, I wait for specials at either Coles or Woolies when they are between $4.24 - 4.59 per 4 pack. Then I buy around 30+ 4 packs which last me a couple weeks.
I recently discovered a bargain from HN big buys which had a slab of 24 300mL V cans for $20 pickup.
I also noticed Costco selling the above mentioned but at ~$35Otherwise Aldi or even Reject shop routinely sell V 4-pack for ~$6.50
to be honest ; theres a better alternative if you need to keep yourself up.
No-doze, caffeine tablets you can grab from woolies etc.
It keeps you awake without that energy high, so you wont be too energetic to concentrate.
And you dont need to piss every 5 minutes because you didnt just drink 500mL of the stuffThose so-called "Energy Drinks" are lolly water, really. A little bit of caffine and a heap of sugar. You are mainly getting a sugar hit, which is not really much use to enhance learning ability.
Hell, stuff like V doesn't really have much Caffeine in it anyway! Only about ONE THIRD of a cup of coffee per 100ml, so your 1 to 3 cans of V is only equivalent to a few cups of coffee anyway.
If you want a caffeine buzz, just buy caffeine tablets like gmail92 says. Personally, I get virtually no effect from caffeine, except for the need to urinate excessively and the headache.
The best I have found that is "easily obtainable" is Sulbutiamine. It's a synthetic derivative of thiamine (vitamin B1), commonly used by body builders and uni students. It is known as "the best cup of coffee that you have ever had". There is no "buzz" or comedown, a very clean wakefullness agent that actually enhances your ability to learn.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sulbutiamine
Remember - the idea is not to "stay awake" but to learn. So, you are better to get something that makes you learn faster (better), rather than making you stay awake longer. The term for these kinds of substances is "Nootropics".
But Sulbutiamine is subtle - for really a decent result, nothing beats Modafinil. Unfortunately, it's extremely expensive here but the Indian generic brands (Modalert is arguably the best) are pretty good. At $1 per tablet you get woken up and fabulous mental focus with ZERO buzz and no comedown the next day - and you can SLEEP whenever you wish.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modalert
Pulling all nighters on Moda will not make you feel like death the next day (just pop one each 12 hours and keep going).
But if you really want to retain info when studying, get some Paracetam and dose up[ for a month to get it in your system. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piracetam - that stuff actually enhances the ability to LEARN (retain knowledge), so combined with Sulbutiamine it's a wicked combo.
If I was studying, there is NO WAY I would take caffeine - the sleepiness and edginess the next day is simply not worth the pretty much useless stimulant effect. You might be slightly more "awake" but you aren't learning because Caffiene doesn't really wake you up or make you learn better - you are still "tired" in the brain, but you just cannot feel it!
To learn more about this, search for the substances I mentioned as well as "Nootropics" - Google is your friend ;-)
NOTE - all these substances are legal. Modafinil is prescription only in Australia, but can be legally imported. The rest of what I mentioned are all fully legal. These are not substances that "get you high" - they are specifically for cognitive enhancement.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW THANKS :D:D:D SHALL TEST THEM OUT :D
- 100 :D
You've used/tested these llama?
Yes, they have their place when there is something that MUST be done.
$4.50, 4.70 for 4 pack is a ggod price.
I really wouldn't drink either, there have been write ups on the serious health risks of drinking these, they are even banned in some countries.
I would go for healthy foods that will give you sustained energy, not just energy in short bursts.
