Don't usually like to post group buying deals, but this Time Magazine offer is actually the cheapest non-student/teacher rate I've found online. Works out to be $1.83 per issue, delivered. Perfec timing since my subscription just finished.

Comparisons:
iSubscribe - $154
magshop - $132
magazines4students - $125

Would be nice it we could get the Economist for a similar price.

    • I would be all over The Economist for a similar price, too. Groupon US had 51 issues of The Economist for $51 earlier in the year: http://www.groupon.com/deals/the-economist-newspaper-chicago…

Pity that magazine subscriptions are so expensive in Australia!

      • Same, I would also be all over it if the economist was a similar price.

        • On the topic of "The Economist", I have been reading titles with Zinio for the past six or so months. It is pretty good (depending on your device) I have a Dell streak which is just comfortable enough to use for tablet purposes. http://au.zinio.com/browse/publications/index.jsp?productId=… at $131 AU sure beats the quarterly $95 AU you get charged for the print ed. Puzzling it says "Available in the US only" yet I'm able to purchase it on the au.zinio.com site.

I was part of a $79 three month trial and they tried to charge my card $95 for the following three months (four-five weeks before period end)
Ended up writing off a fitting email, reversing the payment and unsubscribing altogether. If they want more Aussie followers The Economist Asia should stop jacking up the Aussie prices (double to triple the price of the US & UK with AU at parity).

It really is prohibitive for a student (or young grad) wanting to glean global opinions on international issues.

However I did love the "talking issues" podcasts you can download when you're print subscribed. I wish they could offer it with Zinio for $170-180 as a digital package, I don't really care for the print.

BTW - I subscribed to this TIME deal. So thumbs up to the OP.

  • Got this for $1.66 an issue Before but doubt they will offer it agin so I might snap it up. Thanks!

  • and free radio clock on 12 month subscription

"A trusted source of information around the world, TIME goes beyond the facts to dissect the 'why'. Grouponites who opt for a 12-month subscription can wake up to their favourite radio station with a free digital alarm clock radio "

  • I don't know if it's worth it - it hasn't been the same since Henry Luce left. I'm waiting for his return in True Blood V.

  • Time is a good magazine, but you can find better products in a $2 shop than their promo 'gifts'.

why are ppl always comparing to us? its a defrrent country… yeah why not compare to uk or china…

    • Was that comment aimed at me? I try to find the cheapest price out there, and it is often the case that the US is the cheapest, but I frequently do price comparisons with other non-US countries, including the UK. In fact, I mentioned a UK price on OzBargain just two days ago: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/54313#comment-616038

  • when do u need to activate the 12 mnth subscription by? I left the email at work :(
