and a 1 whole Corona for free? :P
Nah, i shop in the outdoor sheds, much less chance of catching anything with fresh air flowing, then in an indoor shop. Especially in the morning when there's a lot less people then a supermarket too.
Finished your shopping, than you went home.
@jackspratt: Yep…cycled in, shopped, cycled home…why?
Sydney Rd is awesome coming home in the morning.
@[Deactivated]: That's good than.
Randwick is in an expensive area (Sydney's eastern suburbs) and this is a good place to find what I'd call for lack of a better description "Western Sydney style" produce without leaving the eastern suburbs. I.e., non-pretentious fruit and veg shops for the non-yuppie set, like in western Sydney shopping centres and high streets. Ethnic veg not commonly stocked in the Eastern Suburbs except maybe at gourmet markets, bulk tray packs for a decent price, and a good-sized markdown area. Got a NICE tray of marked down mushrooms for $2 last week, for example. Kilo of plums for $1.49 (made crumble). Some perfectly good but just out of date mesculin salad mix was $1.50, I think.
When i lived on Alison Rd, I used to goto Maroubra to get fresh fruit & veg. Does the fruit & veg shop on Anzac Pde still exist?
Randwick has always been expensive. Otherwise goto Paddy's Market
Yup. I can't handle the trip in to Paddy's Market as I'm public transport only and not working in the city. Cheaper (no bus fare) and faster for me to shop local.
I was at Vic Market in Melb a few days ago. I got mandies & bananas for $2/kg (no min), spuds $1/kg (no min), pink ladies $2.50/kg (no min), 500g strawberries $4,
