Laser Imports

Hey Crew,

So some idiots want to shine lasers at aircrafts and that spoils it for the rest of us. I am aware that customs will fine you if you import high powered laser pointers, but can someone more knowledgeable than me verify if we are allowed to import this particular model.

    Yeah 0.5mW should be fine in Oz.

    Yep, 0.5mW is fine
    as long as it isn't over 1mW for the average consumer
    if you want to go over this limit you need an importing licence

    What are they used for outside a lecture room?
    I have seen performers totally bag people for using them in an audience.
    Never seen people go off so hard!

    Careful with those. I bought one from eBay where it specifically states that its below the 1mW limit and is safe for Australian customers. Ended up getting a letter from customs saying they've confiscated the item and its a banned item rar rar rar.
