Yes. Ethics aside, leather is an incredible material that is durable and looks stylish. I know vegan leather has an odd ring to it but it's really no different from faux-fur boots or leopard-print clothes.

I guess I find it strange that someone who cares enough about animals not to use their byproducts would want to mimic that look artificially as it kind of gives support to the genuine product in some ways. I guess there are enough people out there that think like this though to warrant a market.
I think some of the appeal lies in attracting non-vegans - people who can't imagine giving up the things they are used to. When they realise there are viable alternatives then it becomes easier to opt out of animal products as they please :)
