  Only give my dog Advantage, so no protection against ticks. Don't think we have ticks in our area anyways but then he is limited to where he can go. Would you recommend giving such oral meds or using collars ? Many mixed reviews online with some losing their dogs because of this, or so they think.

    Online reviews are biased. Whilst ticks are few and far between, if you take your dog near water, this chance will increase. Also ticks are deadly compared to fleas with permanent damage such as paralysis and death
