Dear OzBargainers,
I am looking into switching from postpaid to prepaid with about 30-35gbs monthly data usage no international call required (coz most been done thru messenger like apps or facetime).
Currently I am with Vodafone.
When the contract finishes, I'd like to switch to prepaid which by far looking at the dollar figures, seems attractive.
I happen to know a friend who have been using Kogan Mobile and she is happy with the coverage and service.
Can someone who recently or currently using Lyca Mobile advise on the experience?
I live in South West Sydney, and work can take us from there to Bankstown, the city or all the way to Macquarie Park, depends on roster.
I am on the fence about Kogan Mobile extra large $335 365 days and Lyca Mobile Large ($168/6 Renewals) 45GB/28 days.
Not sure if Lyca Mobile's network reception is as strong and internet is as reasonable speed (occasional netflix and social media) and if the deal is long running.
Your helps will be much appreciated.
Lyca mobile uses the Telstra wholesale network, it's not the full Telstra network that you'd get if you were a Telstra or Boost customer, but in metro areas it's pretty close to it.
It's really going to be a trial and error thing. If you're happy with Vodafone's coverage then you may want to stick with Kogan mobile, since it's the same network. Before buying a 365 day plan from Lyca, it might be worth buying a 30 day plan and testing out the network to make sure you're happy with coverage and speeds.
Personally where I live, Telstra's signal is horrible but Vodafone's is good. It's different for everyone.
