nice find, even with those freakish stand :)

  • I saw that the other day in store but don't know they do free shipping otherwise I will post it.

  • Good one!

I bought one of these in August for $299 and it's an amazing screen. Gee, the price has fallen quite a bit since then.

    • yep, lots of things tend to fall in price..just depends on when you want them and how badly i guess..heh.

  • So what would people recommend for a decent 24" monitor around the $200 mark? Would this Samsung be the go? Or should I find another alternative?

    • I think this price is already stretched to max so you could only find little difference in the market, but take in consideration your time so just save maybe $10.

Yeah go for this - its a great monitor and for this price a steal. The touch controls are awesome. So light and energy efficient. I love it!

      • +1

Bit the bullet and bought it - hopefully it will serve me well. Cheers for the input!

        • We got one for $310 last year. You WILL love it. The LED panel is so thin and the transformer is outside like that of laptops. Enjoy!

      • +1

        The touch controls are awesome

Really? I think they're awful to use. Probs the worst thing about the monitor imo. Can't see what I'm even touching half the time lol. Screen is good though and so is the price.

Great price, just bought one! Not sure i even needed it though..

    nice price

  • Ahhhhhh i can't decided whether to buy one or not!!

  • Noo I thought 199 was a good price…

    $179 for 24", that's 7.458/inch.
    plus
    1920 x 1080 Display Resolution
    Response Time: 2ms
    16.7 Mil. Color supported

If i have $ i will pay it.

    • This says it has HDMI x2 (Audio Out).

Does that mean it only does digital sound out, or is it a typo?

      • +1

Copied correctly from the Ebay link it's:
        Connector — 1 x D - Sub / 2 x HDMI / 1 x (Audio out)

And looking at this it would seem there is one analogue audio out for the digital audio (over HDMI) in.

      that's 7.458/inch

      That's what she said

    Ahhhh interesting find…
You can save $3 if you live in Sydney and can easily reach their physical stores (not sure about buying online from their site)

    http://www.orangeit.com.au/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=66…

The above link, is to the actual store (not their ebay Store) and the same product costs $176. Versus the eBay store variant which cost $179.

They have 5 stores in Sydney, 3 in city (Haymarket, Town Hall, Clarence St), 1 in south (Hurstville), 1 in north (North Sydney).

Kinda weird how they have 3 stores really close to each other…

    $169 in their catalog.

Interesting. This is the first time we've gotten their catalogs in the junk mail.

    • Wow. Nice find.

    • how old is the catalogue? do you think we can still get one at this price?

    • yep but 179$ includes shipping. which is fine, $10 for shipping, its probably courier too and its no small box.

  • i bought this screen, some dude was selling them for 150$ on ebay. was an awesome price. i was ready to buy from these guys for their standard $179 ebay price. was the cheapest around.

  • +3

Might be worth noting seller's got quite a few negative feedbacks - buyers didn't receive item.
Pales in comparison to the logitech shop.

    • solution… visit a physical store…

too hard?? (e.g. a brissie?) … sadly you would need to take the risk…

      • Pretty limited with choice in rural WA!
Risk is double fold as I'm considering two screens.

        • +11

Just buy four and hope two arrive?

        • +1

Wish I'd thought of that. Thanks Phesto!

  • Got one from the MLN bandwagon. I like it, although lack of VESSA mount points which kind of sucks if you want to use it in portrait mode or in on one of those dual monitor stands.

  • Can't be any bloody worse than MLN

  • Pity the Auburn store is closed on the weekend, as I'm over that way on Saturday. Otherwise I would have gone there and got one.

  • very good monitor! but the stand.. disappointed. you can't really move MUCH of the angle vertically. failed.

    • I would buy it just I already bough a monitor 1 year ago.
What is wrong with your floor, isn't it straight?

Good work guys. Sold out haha.

EDIT: It's still available but for $3.00 more expensive from a different seller:

    • -5

why did i get negged :(

  • maybe these guys have stock, unlike MLN

  • It doesn't appear to be VESA mountable (and the way the plugs are positioned id say that could prevent getting too close to the wall as well), i tend to steer clear of non mountable screens, not that i have ever mounted a monitor, but i like having the option to do so.

    • Well look at the price and the quality = very high value.
If you (or others) don't need wall mounting, then why worrying?

    • correct they aren't wall mountable.

  • Is the screen height-adjustable and rotatable?

    • I put a new book from school I never used under the stand :P

      • So I take it that it is not height-adjustable and rotatable?

        • I own one - You can only tilt the screen up and down. It's not height adjustable or rotatable.

  • Fantastic monitor - bought from the recent MLN sale. If you're thinking twice, don't. Just get it.

  • Hey guys. I got a 27" DELL, obviously nicer than this. Problem is though that I basically HAVE to run games at the screens native res of 2540x1440 otherwise things look jaggy, which my ATI 5870 + 4Ghz CPU has a hard time getting over 30fps with on new games.

Has anyone downgraded like this to a 24" 1080p to run games faster in a screens native res (to hit 60fps)?

    • +2

Clearly the place to ask for tech advice :P

    • -1

      Indeed the right place lol

    • Yes. That is a smart move. Get a smaller 1080p screen and then use your 27" screen for general work. As long as you have the desk space you will see far better performance at 1920x1080 rather than 2540x1440. There are benchmarks available on the web, just googleit.

  • -3

Im thinking the smaller the screen the better fps. Obviously a larger screen would workout the gpu even more resulting in lesser performance than a smaller screen with less resolution

  • Purchased mine yesterday it seemed they sold over 120 in one day so I don't know if they will have stock in store to handle that.
Also did anyone else get confused between the options for postage:

    -Optional Insurance $6
-Postage with tracking and signature $5

In the ebay listing description they informed you to use the postage with tracking and signature for insurance, so i'm not sure why they had the extra optional insurance for $6.

  • I got mine from the MLN deal, it's a fantastic monitor. Highly recommended.

  • I LOVE this monitor.

I might put in a claim with my 28 Degrees card and get $30 back since I got mine from MLN

    • you can only claim back if the same store you purchased from reduced their prices.

      • "If you buy something on your card in Australia and it’s reduced in price in the same store (or one at another location)…"

Dammit. I misread "another location" to mean a different store. Oh well…

  • I would snap this up but I already have a BenQ E2420HD, and don't think they'd go together..

  • so has anyone actually gotten one yet? I'm tempted, I was going to get a 23" LG W2343T-PF for $155 posted, but this seems a nicer screen for just $29 more….

  • +1

I just bought 3, although i just payed a crap load for a bracket so it killed the price but it'll look so sweet!

    • I like your style buddy. Just checked out the prices. Those triple brackets are not cheap!

    • +1

I thought these weren't VESA mountable… which means you won't be able to use that bracket?

  • in the process of a new CPU build so this has come at a perfect time!

  • i want to buy this but this review> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFsYeyMagcU it seems it has bad viewing angles? can anyone confirm plz.

    • the viewing angle is like any other tn monitors..
mainly the vertical viewing angle is bad if your eyes is below the monitor stand..

      else it looks pretty good…

      i would get it

  • I received mine yesterday . I upgraded from a several year old 22" screen and its incredibly better. Very clear, very thin, nice stand. Great colours Very happy with the purchase. 2x HDMI inputs is great too for using my xbox when the wife wants the tv ;)

  • This is now showing as $185 when I look at it on eBay, but still with free P&H.

  • shit fast delivery, got it 9am this morning.

  • Guys is this a matte or gloss screen? I am used to matte but damn if the ips in the Imacs don't look glorious in gloss.
