Recommendations for 75" 4K UHD TV during EOFY Sale

Looking to buy a new 75" UHD Smart TV for my dinning cum living room. Budget is approx AU$1500. Planning on buying during EOFY sale period.

Will generally be using it for watching downloaded movies, series of Netflix, Amazon prime accounts, YouTube on chromecast and somewhat gaming of Xbox etc. Don't watch much cable tv.

Viewing angles is imp as wanna watch while working in open room kitchen. Looking mostly to wall mount. Decent looks, slim bezels, good picture quality and viewing angles, longer than 1year warranty, good sound, local dimming, high brightness, better refresh rate, are some of my requirements. Not fussy on brands however will love if I can get a decent Sony or Samsung in this price. Please recommend some good options, thanks.

75" with local dimming for $1500 - Not happening! Not even during EOFY

  • Can increase my budget to max 2K but was hoping to get wall mount done for the additional price.

    • You might just about get a Hisense for little over 2k. Forget everything else at 75" size. Downgrade your expectations or increase your budget significantly for a decent unit.

      • Thanks for the reply @Hybroid. Qq though, I managed to get 55" Hisense P6 last year for around $800 and post that saw many 75" tv deals in between $900-$1500 in between EOFY to black friday. So what features are missing in those units from what I have mentioned? Just curious to know the differences

I managed to purchase a TCL 85" P8M last November for $1600 from the goodguys using a deal posted here. TCL had provided $300 cashback at this time which lowered it to this price.

Edit: For me, this TV is incredible and I believe it rivals TVs 80"+ up to $4000 currently. The blacks are incredible and it has android which allows you to install so many streaming and IPTV apps. I've installed VPN software on it and get Netflix, BBC and other libraries outside of Australia on it.

For the price I got it, was an absolute steal and still is.

LG and Hisense look like the only decent options in that price range. Both are VESA mountable. LG has arguably better brand/name value and better sound. Hisense is lighter, thinner, more hdmi inputs, and longer warranty. Or save yourself a bit of money and get a TCL which has a higher refresh rate than both of them.

Look back at previous deals for that LG tv. All reports are that it's horrible. You'd be better off with the cheaper TCL.

The Samsung Q60T 75 inch is $2,176.85 on my EPP portal and the TU8000 is $1,682.85. Both are out of stock though

I have the RU7100 and the TU8000 is apparently slightly better but I'm happy with the Samsung

Absolutely wrong, the tu8000 has many stripped features from the previous years ru7100 look it up

        • oh right, i just went off the first website when I googled both. Is the TU8000 supposed to replace the 7100? I think the 7100 is discontinued

    • Mine coming up as $2511.75. do they run promotions or is it the regular price?

      • Regular price on mine. The prices varies across Edu portal, Government EPP portals and the others. Edu and gov discounts are usually not as good as the others

        • Thanks for your reply. I have noticed with JB Hifi education portal way cheaper than commercial accounts. Not sure about Samsung Education and Gov.

  • I'm also looking for this size in a budget TV for offices do display CCTV, so picture quality is important but doesn't have to be outstanding.
This is what I've come up with so far:
    Kogan -$1549
    Hisense -$1695 (No stock?)
    Blaupunkt -$1196
    Soniq -$1399
    TCL -$1680

Hisense would be my pick but seems to be no stock available from JB. I've had a 55" Kogan dumb TV with a shild going strong for the last 18+ months. Soniq or TCL I recon would be fine and comparable to the Kogan but Blaupunkt gets mixed reviews from other models, mostly bad.

    Any feedback?
