Hey guys,
I have some confusion regarding the year of a car I put a deposit on today, and plan on picking up tomorrow.
It's a Hyundai i30 Performance N Fastback that was advertised as MY19, but when I punch the rego into any insurance website to get a quote, the vehicle is apparently 2018. I read a few other threads over here from people asking a similar question, but unfortunately I wasn't able to completely answer my questions based on those.
If I go ahead with finalising the sale tomorrow, I will have paid $35,000 for a single owner i30 Performance N Fastback with 9,000km on the odometer, which was advertised to me as a 2019 car. I imagine that if this car is in fact a 2018 model, the value will inherently be less than if it were a 2019, no? That said, from the Googling I've done, this car was released in 2019, so I'm even more confused … ugh, my head!
Also, for anyone familiar with this particular car, are there any differences between the i30 Performance N Fastback between 18 and 19 (besides the amount that the dealership is going to try and extract from me)? I haven't been able to find any notable mentions of this online, but thought I'd ask anyway.
Here's hoping someone sees this post given it's already late evening, before I either pick up the car or tell the dealer that I can't go ahead with it due to misleading advertising. What's the bet that it's a 2019 model on the way out of the dealership, and a 2018 model when I try to sell it back to them a few years down the track lol.
Thanks!
Hello new user of 7 mins. What does the build/compliance plate on the vehicle say?
