Please don't support this disgusting business. Look at what they did at the peak of the virus. THey are scum.

I don't mind Kogan. Their airfryer is still going strong so they rebrand good enough stuff.

      • +6

It isn't so much about their products it is how they took advantage of everyone during the pandemic.

        A couple more examples.

They didn't really take advantage of anyone. You have the choice to purchase it or not. They have the choice to set their price high or low.

          • +3

@dmbminaret: Didn't take advantage of anyone? So when there was a shortage and no one could get it they raise the price by 10x the normal price? I call that taking advantage. No one had a choice to purchase it or not because there was a shortage. Or have you been asleep the last few months?

Don't get me wrong I have brought from them before. But after that, I won't buy anything from them again.

            • -1

@adamshere: I didn't buy it. I didn't get taken advantage of. I washed my hands.

              • @dmbminaret: That's not what you said though. You said they didn't take advantage of anyone. Not they didn't take advantage of me.

                • @adamshere: If anyone got taken advantage of, it was their choice. Like saying you offended me. No, I took offence. It's a choice.

        My kogan TV is great.

    • Ban them and youfoodz from ozb immediately!

    • +2

No wonder their share price is racing so hard.

Seriously though, if private sellers get taken down on eBay for "cashing in on human misery" why is Kogan allowed to get away with it?

      • Because kogan isn't on ebay…

      • +1

Because kogan have their own storefront. Ebay are making their own rules. Seriously, your argument is why should an italian restaurant charge more than dominos. If you don't want to pay it, don't.

why is Kogan allowed to get away with it?

It's not that kogan is 'allowed' to get away with it. It is that on ebay, you're 'not allowed' to get away with it.

      What a bunch of scumbags

    • Whoah that’s rotten, $80/ltr.

    • geez, that price gouging is obscene. why pay $3.84/bottle when you can pay just $39.99/bottle!

  • +2

No way we should be supporting Kogan, Price gouging when people needed it most.

    • +1

I'm still not 'supporting' them because I don't need it nor want to pay the postage. But if they have something I want at a price I like, I will purchase from them to suit my needs, not to 'support' them.

  • A little OT, but can I ask if anyone uses kogan First? $12/month seems like an expensive subscription under any measure.

    • Nah. Prime is it. I have the ebay but its not worth a pinch.

      • The same here, but frankly, even ebay plus looks like good value compared to Kogan First.

        • If they had a yearly thing for ~$50, I'd consider it. I buy a bit of stuff off there. Currently it is $99 annually.

    • +1

It’s free with their credit card which is free as well (plus had bonus $500 kogan credit when I signed up). So I do buy some stuff from Kogan for express shipping

      • By free cc, you mean no annual fee? If so that's not a bad deal. What's the rate?

  • +1

    Was $39.99 LMAO !

    and no shipping to Tassie…

    • Where are these made?

      • Dick smith?

      • I meant the product of origin.

        • I don't think you did.

Lol, was $130 and now is $35.

Even Krogan.com got a bit too greedy.

    • cheap now

Price gouger should be banned, at the peak of covid19 crisis kogan tried to gouge.

      • +7

        Totally agree.

While I was struggling to find sanitiser for my elderly mum, I stumbled on Kogan's $15 for 50ml of Dettol and was very upset, to say the least. I went to Kogan's Twitter to find out more and Ruslan had posted that, while everyone was struggling to find tp, his best seller was a toilet seat which was selling for $389.99, and he was making light of it. The very next day, the price of his glorious best-selling toilet seat went up to $699.

I will never buy anything from his website ever again.

We should spread this information and teach these gougers a lesson by ceasing to support them. Simples.

EDIT: These new deals he's posting are nothing short of DAMAGE CONTROL.

        • That’s evil.
Nah he is too thick to do damage control, he’s just dumping the excess stock, whatever price he put on current stock is purely profit, since the sale during gouging period covered all the costs of all remaining stock.

Edit: I feel bad buying Xiaomi purifier from him last week, if I knew about this I wouldn’t, I would buy from Gshopper only $20 more.

      • From memory it wasn't Kogan, but a secondary seller on Kogan, still wasn't right though

    • +1

This will be $15 soon… Over supply and little market for it

    • +1

Wait sometime, these will come down to cents…

    • Dupe. Price gouging seller anyway…

    • Lol, I will stock some when it is cheap as water.

    • +1

Isn’t it the same like petrol? They gauge the price when it’s on high demand? Thought it’s the basic supply and demand.

      • You would really need to know what they paid for the stock to determine if it was price gouging (or the degree of it).

        • Agreed - I posted this because it was cheaper than it has been and bought some on that basis to give to friends that are catching public transport a lot, etc. Whilst it may have been price gouging it's still a lot cheaper than I have seen recently so shared - didn't realise there would be so much negativity! It seems that making effort to create posts for ozbargain isn't necessarily appreciated..

    Rubbish products and price gouging

  • Price gouging muppets..

  • Price gouging germs

    • Only 0.1% of germs left.

  • Say No to price gouging.

  • Hi. Did anyone happen mention price gouging yet?

  • I’ve made 2 purchases from Kogan this year and both have been unable to be fulfilled. They list things they don’t have stock of and their customer service is shambles. I will not bother attempting a third purchase.
