[Solved] Seller Is Cancelling eBay Order with Afterpay Promotion

I placed an order on eBay with the Afterpay promo coupon and the seller has cancelled the order (twice) presumably because they don't like the 10% off, even though they are apparently participating in the promotion. Do I have any recourse here?

EDIT: I've confirmed that the seller is not at fault here. It's an issue with eBay/Afterpay.

Name and shame the sellers name.

    presumably

    So, no.

presumably because they don't like the 10% off,

The seller isn't the one giving the discount, this one is a ebay/afterpay promo so they are picking up the bill.

the seller has cancelled the order (twice)

and why did you order from them a 2nd time if they cancelled the 1st time?

    • I wasn't sure if the problem was on my end (ie. if something had gone wrong in the checkout process).

If you feel strongly enough about it the eBay forum, many of their members are sellers, has a strong following and have been known to Blacklist buyers and sellers who are a*******s.

  • Could there be another reason the order isn't going through? I'm getting an email from Afterpay saying "As you may have heard from eBay, they were unable to fulfill your order and so a full refund has been issued to you." But I'm getting no email from eBay itself, and the order just disappears from my purchase history.

    • Then I receive an email from eBay saying "Sorry, your recent payment didn't go through. As a result, the item(s) below have not received payment. Please return to eBay to resubmit your payment again."

I have no outstanding debt with Afterpay and have successfully used it and the promo code with a previous transaction just a few days ago.

  • Someone else was also recently experiencing issues with Ebay & Afterpay:

    • This looks like it could be the issue. The seller is equally confused about what is happening.

  • Was the seller King Chicken?

  • I've confirmed that the seller is not at fault here. It's an issue with eBay/Afterpay.
