Hi all,
I closed down my ANZ Travel Rewards card around 35 days ago, and have around 60k of points on it. Apparently I have 50 days to use them, or lose them. Normally I would transfer them over to Velocity, but that seems redundant now.
Any thoughts / what are other people doing with their points?
I now have an ANZ FF platinum if that makes any difference (but different rewards program).

you can always convert the points into Asia Miles… i would love to fly with Japan Airlines (even in cattle class MOO).

Ive got a heap of points too but was planning on waiting and seeing how it pans out. The emails I get from Velocity says to me that they’ll continue on even if Virgin goes under?!
You can convert it to cash which comes off your credit card balance. Not the best rate of return but very easy and no hassles.
I converted mine to Krisflyer (Singapore Airlines) a couple weeks ago - its 3 ANZ points = 1 Krisflyer
Sounds like you'd get 20k points out of it so not really enough to fly anywhere though once the ban is lifted
Good idea, I didnt know about the krisflyer conversion option (albeit 'lean at 3:1). Currently have around 75k with kf, and were handy to have for internal flights in Canada. Maybe I'll look to use them for a flight to NZ (though I think the old 25k points return is long gone).
As for my 400k velocity points… sigh!

I've just checked Krisflyers redemption to score return tickets MEL-DPS sits at around 56k KrisFlyer points + Taxes/Other chargers, which equals to 168k ANZ points.
168k ANZ points equals to approx $750 worth of Westfield/Coles gift cards which is definitely a better deal for me.
Winner depends on your own priorities and circumstances; 56k points is a return trip to Singapore which starts at $1200, or 25k for a return trip to NZ

Got about 115,000… not the best conversion but if I pad my KF account i think i finally have enough for a big luxury trip… but i can't go anywhere… and i think a round of points is due to expire at end of the year. fml…
