This is why I should never buy a game on Day 1. Death Stranding is still on my pile of shame.

    • Same here. I bought the limited edition and it's still shrink wrapped.

    • is it a good game ?
oh well I have been playing Elder scrolls online, still have withcer and farcry 5 to play.

      • +1

Rumours are that there's 3 million copies of Death Stranding sittings around unsold.

If true, expect prices to keep falling over the next few months.

  • +4

Days gone is $22 at Harvey Norman….if you can find any stock

    • Thanks, added to OP.

    • +6

      more like.. Stocks Gone

  • Was going to order Death Stranding before the Days of Play announcement, happy I waited :)

Thank you, just wondering if anyone has played days gone and could tell me if it’s worth a pick up, Is it enjoyable to play? Have heard mixed reviews.

    • +1

Haven't played it myself, but I know a couple of people who have played it who reckon it's actually quite good. I mean manage your expectations, obviously - it's not going to be anybody's game of the year or anything. Maybe not worth full price at launch, but could be worth a look at this price if it's the kind of game you're into.

I loved it. Some reviews were unfair imo. Can be a little slow for some but I really enjoyed it. It's a very solid title that offers a decent amount of play time without over staying and represents pretty darn good value at $22.

    • +2

It's quite good. I only very recently played through, and highly enjoyed it. Motorbike riding and customisation is fun, and if you have a Pro, the HDR is absolutely gorgeous.

    • +2

Days Gone is really under rated.

I get that open world games and zombies are really played out right now but it's heaps of fun and the characters are kinda loveable. Definitely play on Hard though, Normal is a pushover.

      • +2

Def get it. Don't stress about fighting hordes because you saw yt videos on it, they come much later in the game. Just play as if you've seen no reviews or horde videos.
Upgrade ranged skills, then survival (especially skills that mean you get more loot) then melee. JorRaptor on yt has some good tips on how to start out.

I ordered Days Gone, thanks for everyone’s input. looking forward to running over zombies!!!

Just get it. It's fantastic. IGN completely (profanity) up their review of the game.

      • +1

I just bought it online at the PlayStation Store and have been binging it the past few nights. I agree, it's a damn good game — SkillUp's review convinced me to give it a go. The performance issues have largely been fixed now.

Very tempted by Days Gone… So much in the pile of shame though :(

  • Might be time to check out Days Gone. Can't complain at that price. Heard mixed reviews but there's not much else to play at the moment..thanks OP

    • +3

It's a really good game. All the reviews were before all the patches and fixes.

        Fantastic game

  • Sad there aren’t any good offers on PS4 Pros during this time weirdly, can get the VR and great games, BYO console.

    • I actually find it pretty strange how expensive consoles have remained through this generation. Even the base model PS4 is still a little over $400, and XB1 just under $400. PS4 launched at $550 (I think XB1 was $600, but that was skewed by the mandatory Kinect in the early days). So the price has only dropped $150 since launch when you'd think it should have come down by at least 50% by now, nearly 7 years after release. I guess if they're happy with how many they're selling they've probably got less incentive to cut the price. Or maybe they figure that the cheap-n-cheerful casual end of the market has been taken by phone / tablet gaming so there's no point trying to get the price down to the kind of levels the PS2 got to in its latter days.

      • Last Christmas you could get a standard PS4 for as low as $168 if I remember correctly - I think that is a great price.

Aussie dollar is pretty rubbish at the moment.

  • +1

Amazon have price matched JB Hifi for both games.

    • They've now matched HN on Days Gone and dropped to $22

      • Thanks, updated OP.

  • Death Stranding worth it? I'm gonna buy Days Gone!

    • +1

Death Stranding is a very acquired taste, I absolutely loved what I played of it, before prematurely selling my PS4… Watch some reviews though for sure.

Days Gone Special Edition going for $25 at EB games

    https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/ps4/244355-days-gone-spec…

    • Got this as well instead. Don't have Amazon Prime anymore.

  • +1

Death Stranding looks like a boring game according to Youtude reviews.

    • +2

It is a very boring game according to my user review.

    • +3

The best review is the Girlfriend Reviews one, sums it up super well.

    • It's probably about expectations, and how poorly those where managed by Konami. The game isn't for everyone.. nor should it be. Some people want to jump into a game and know what to expect straight away but that's now how Kojima makes games.

    • Personally I loved it, but it's definitely not for everyone. There are times where I'd get super frustrated, and the story can be a bit hard to really make sense of at times, but if you let yourself really get into the game and help with rebuilding the world, it can definitely give you a great sense of accomplishment. I loved seeing all the other players using all the roads I'd spend hours building, and using my ziplines all over the mountains. There are some really beautiful scenic moments spread throughout the game as well.

  • I love death stranding. It's super detailed and unique. Nothing I've played is like it.

Days gone is now $22 on Amazon

    • Thanks, bought from Amazon

  • +2

Death Stranding is one I'd love to play but know I never will because it's just too damn long.

Picked up days gone special edition at eb for $25 at chadstone. 5 copies left

  • I grabbed both, even tho I'm about 15 games behind.
I literally just keep playing Warzone, but I see people sell these used for more than these prices.

    • Same here. Should go back to single player games since I suck at Warzone.

      • I ain't great either 🤣🤣🤣

        • I blame it on 'lag' due to having my PS4 running on wifi and controller on BT.

          • @keejoonc: That must be my issue! Ha

  • Just went to JB Hi-Fi and got a price match on Spiderman for $19 (from Amazon) and Days Gone for $22 (from Harvey Norman)

  • Bigw ebay has it for $24 free postage

Hideo Kojima has outdone himself with the length of cut scenes in Death Stranding!

I get that the game is trying to tell a story, but it's more like watching a movie than actually getting to play the game. I played for around 2 hours and delivered a few packages, wasn't that exciting. Would be more exciting if we could card packages like AusPost lol.
