Xiaomi Mijia 4K 360 Panorama Camera + Xiaomi Mijia Selfie Stick $142.98 US (~$219.73 AU) Delivered @ Mi CC Store AliExpress

160

This 360 camera has been out for several years now and is still one of the best ones you can buy as a beginner for a good price. Since the initial reviews years ago it's had a lot of firmware updates to improve issues, improve quality and add other new features. It supports up to 3.5K video natively and can be bumped up to 4K with software interpolation while still looking good. A small tripod is included with the camera, but the seller has chosen to include a Xiaomi selfie stick (worth ~$20 AU) as well.

Features include the Ambarella A12 chipset, two Sony 16MP IMX206 image sensors, 190° wide-angle fish eye lenses with large F2.0 aperture, photos up to 7K, IP67 water resistance, 6-axis electronic image stablisation, modes including time lapse/slow mode etc, 1600mAh battery with QC 2.0, microSD card support and app control.

I used mine in Japan last year and captured plenty of good footage (especially around Nara) and thanks to VR I can relive the experience!

  • What 4K 360 degree camera would be the next step up from this one?

I haven't done enough research but I know the GoPro Fusion is a popular choice and cheaper than the newer GoPro Max 360. The Insta360 models are also good like the modular One R.

    • I have the Insta 360 One X and love it. This is cheaper though but the killer feature of the Insta 360 is their software that allows for exporting 2D video in post processing with any camera angle you want - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHtutTyTvYY&t=6s

  • bought this last time they had a promo… still not here yet, almost been 2 months…

Can we see them? Please share I miss Nara. Thanks.

  • Any reviews on this one as an action cam. Have been looking for a yi 4k for mountain biking but this may do the job?

I bought one about 2 years ago. I was going to get an Insta360 one x but realised I would have to buy a new phone as well - preferably an Apple late model phone for best software support.

Instead I bought the much cheaper Xiaomi Mijia 360. I have been very happy with my purchase. It doesn't have image stabilisation so wouldn't be ok as an action cam although I have mounted mine on a couple of motorcycles and it works well - both as stills and video.

I think the reason for the recent price drop is that Xiaomi are no longer developing the unit.

  • Mounted this on a drone (using mounting holder bought on eBay) and got some spectacular 360 videos and photos!
