Good and Cheap Bluetooth Controllers Suggestions?

Hi All,

I recently got a Vodafone TV box and realized that it's actually a pretty decent emulation device.

Was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for some cheaper but good bluetooth controllers to use with it?

I've paired one of my PS4 controllers which works well, but the only other controller I have is the switch pro controller and would rather not go through the hassle of syncing it up each time (as it gets used with the switch quite often).

Thanks in advance :)

If you often play games on it, don't get the cheap ones. The rubber membranes under the buttons are crap.
I wrote a review of some sort some time ago

    • Yeah that's fair.

I'm not gonna be doing any hardcore gaming on it (mainly play games like Mario Party and whatnot every now and then) so didn't want to shell out for a wireless 360 controller, but I guess it might be worth it in the long run.

      • 360 controllers require a dongle for wireless and first (or two) gens of xbox one don't use bluetooth.
Wired 360 controller might work though.

I bought an 8bitdo for my switch which should work with the vodatv.

        • I was looking at the 8bitdo's as well actually.

          What's the build quality like?

I do have a wired 360 controller but the usb port on the VTV is taken up by the hard drive with all the roms/movies and whatnot

          • @mangobango: I have the sn30+ pro. Build quality is really good. Better than the ps4 and xbox controllers imo. Though the wired 360 controller I have is good.

Comes with replaceable rechargeable battery but is more costly than the xbox/ps4. You can get cheaper models though

@Caped Baldy: Damn that's good, looks like they're around $70ish so glad to hear they're worth the money.

I've always thought about grabbing one, maybe I'll wait for a sale or something and check them out :)

  • Would a DS3 clone be suitable? Just on $15 nowadays with the exchange rate https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32811478043.html I can verify that these controllers have a working gyro and rumble.

    • Might be worth having a look at these!

Have you been using them/what's the build quality like?

      • They do feel a bit cheap and light but they work. Note the button symbols deviate from the Sony ones. Battery life seems fine. I bought 3 of them.
