Hi, bought a fridge from Gumtree, seller said she had the receipt (for warranty) but when picking up she said she'll email it (yes should've stopped there) and now crickets. Don't care about the money but I don't want her to get away with it either. Any advice?
Gumtree seller won't send receipt as agreed

Yeah, you could have held-off $50 from the purchase.
And said, once you email me the receipt I will send over the remaining $50 to you…. that would've been fun to watch happen :DVerbal agreements are as legally binding as written ones, just harder to prove.

Welcome.
You know the address go around there …
with bikies
…and then get charged for stalking/harassment by cops. Good idea.
Lol. Not likely.
Regular GT buyer I see. Say she's lost it. Not much you can do about it now. Take it as a learning experience. It's second hand, you would have already got it at a good price. If it's recent model. It will have a date of manufacture. That might help with any warranty claim.
Get away with it? 😂😂 You're kidding right?
mention consumer law. they might give in.
Consumer law does not apply to the private sale of 2nd hand goods.
send a letter of demand.
XD
If she lost it, I've had stores send me reprints in the past.
I wonder if Gumtree/Ebay Australia will introduce the upload the receipt system they have in US and Canada.
If you list an item for sale, during listing process its asks if you can provide receipt and if you say you can you have to upload it before you can list item
You could say no.. but then buyers would know you do not have one
if you say yes and upload it it can be viewed by anyone looking to buy (you are given opportunity to hide any personal info that may be present on the invoice)
Not really. Keep chasing is all you can do.
Transaction was complete when you walked away with the item. Anything else is just goodwill.
