    Good price for iPhone

    • +8

      No it isn't.

      • +1

Yeah - forgot to add a question mark "?" in my comment which cost 7 neg votes :(

  • +12

Better hold on for iphone 5 next week announcement.

    • Indeed, I've just added that to the deal text in case people weren't aware.

    • at least a month before hit our market (legally)

  • +10

These are imports. You can get cheaper Australian stock iPhone 4s: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/APPLE-iPHONE-4-BLACK-32GB-FACTORY…

      • "Make Offer"

      • dude so is kogan for the 32gb @ $788!

        • +1

"All mobile phones are purchased from Authorized suppliers World Wide"
So in other words, they're selling grey market phones too. And there are all kinds of other problems with Thinkofus if you take a quick look on Whirlpool (e.g. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1743156). AND no obvious ABN on their website.

I'd rather dig my eyes out with a spoon before I bought an Apple anything, but if I suddenly lost my mind there are worse places to go than Kogan.

        • -4

Yes, but not exclusively. And even if this is a grey, it's still cheaper than Kogan. Warranty is with Apple.

  • Better wait for new iPhone next week.

    • Yep, I agree. I was just pointing out that these Kogan 'deals' aren't that good.

      • -5

Hm, where can get a Galaxy S 2 for less than $558 with local warranty?

      • eug - I was pointing out that the price is in line with the price of other imported Galaxy S2s. No doubt Kogan has researched these prices - give it some time and the import prices will adjust.

  • +8

How long before apple makes Kogan take down the android phones? haha

  • +8

I don't get why people do business with this dude.

    • +11

Exactly. He criticises Myer taking its operations overseas and now look what he is doing.

      • +1

        now?

Haha, kogan STARTED with cheap imports from China. What do you think his kogan stuff is? Kogan has like NONE of his operations in Australia. His inventory management are in the Philippines, his stock is from China, the website is managed in India.

not to say the chinese tech these days is inferior, it's no longer cutting edge so anyone can make an LED tv fairly easily with a decent standard of quality.

point is, kogan has NEVER been Australian.

        • No, the goods were made in China but were brought into the country by him. They were sold as Australian products with GST. This is different.

        • Waste of time.

You reckon Kogan will sell iPhone 5 ?

  • +2

Kogan just got slapped by apple regarding Samsung tablets, now he must be a good boy :)

  • +1

Is it iPhone have International warranty?

    • +6

      yes.. is it..

      • Lol you just made my day =D

    • it is.

    • It does.

    • +1

      Your point being?

1,2 & 3 aren't valid and is often the norm when buying phones overseas on eBay.

    • +9

Dude. Seriously. EVERY single post you talk about that damn C-tick plug. You seem to be on a personal vendetta against grey importers, do you own a local electronics store?! And Apple have international warranty, im yet to hear of anyone being turned down for a grey import.

Only your 5th point is valid, which is all that needed to be said. The price on the 32gb ip4 is higher than the competition, meaning at least for that phone, theres no deal here. Also it should be noted that apple is announcing their iphone 5 (and possibly iphone4+) next week and that should cause prices to drop substantially, unless you need a phone RIGHT NOW I suggest you wait until after Oct. 4.

    • +4

Unfortunately I've run out of negs at the moment, but rest assured I will be back tomorrow to neg you, A3.

STOP WITH THE C-TICK CRAP, you unbelievably annoying Ozbargain user.

  • +4

iPhone 4 should be in the $500 and below price point, stupid Apple controlled market.

    • +1

Only for 'Kogan' branded products though?

  • ALL these points are factual and valid.

    1) KOGAN HONG KONG LTD. is selling these iPhones. NOT KOGAN AUSTRALIA PTY. LTD.

    2) They will be shipped from Hong Kong, and legally the buyer is the importer and is responsible for the importation, the legality of the importation, any GST if the total is more than $1,000 (eg. 2 x iPhones) and the warranty for the item(s).

    3) These Hong Hong market iPhones are supplied with a 'duck tail' plug that is not suitable for Australia. I understand that KOGAN HK are including a plug adapter for Australian power sockets. However, as far as I know, this adapter is an illegal import and is not certified for sale/supply/use in Australia as it lacks the required C-Tick and insulation on the pins.

    4) It is debatable if Apple Australia will honor any warranty for these phones. If they are being purchased from the new Hong Kong Apple store (opened on Sept. 24th) it appears that Apple AU will honor the warranties. However, if they were purchased from other sources (a HK carrier for example) they may be identifiable as such via the model number, and Apple AU may refuse warranty support.

    5) Total price on the 32GB iP4 (for example) is now $788. (special offer) One can purchase an Australian Market 32GB iPhone 4, with Australia warranty, for between $720-$740 including delivery from thinkofus.com.au – a saving of $48 to $68 with no warranty or electrical safety worries. (I am taking thinkofus at their word for stating via eMail that they are selling Australian market iPhones, with valid Australian warranty).

As for point 3) that so many of you are criticising as me 'harping on' about Australia's C-Tick legislation. Of course one can 'fix' this by purchasing an "Australian Duck Tail" plug in an Australian Apple store. However, most will not bother, or even know about this. They will be left using an unsafe HK/UK to AU adapter plug that lacks the required electrical insulation on the two pins. This is very important, and is required because if children pull the plug from the AC 'wall' socket their small fingers tend to slip behind and can touch the still 'live' pins. 240v can cause death or serious injuries.
