MyRepublic Wi-Fi Halo Issues, change or keep?

Hi, I am on the NBN 100 plan with the router provided by MyRepublic - https://myrepublic.net/sg/content/uploads/2017/08/Wi-Fi-Halo…

Over the past months my devices have started to disconnect from the router, saying 'Failed to Connect to IP address'. My friends called the MyRepublic and they it was due to too many devices being connected (up to 6 apparently). Right now only 2 of us are at home and I still notice my devices being disconnected.

I was browsing through the forums and ASUS RT-A68U seems to be recommended quite often. Would changing my router improve the problems I have and improve speed?

Quick google speed test shows 61.5mbps download and 26.6 upload.

    Happy with other router recommendations as well if my current one is inadequate. My budget is anything less than $200

    Have you checked you don’t have other devices connected such as TV’s, computers, smoke alarms, etc.

    did they ask for the logs from the router? if not it's in the maintenance tab and should tell you from the router standpoint why this may be occurring. I would suggest a new router as well will help and that one is a good choice.

    I actually read though the rest of the manual and it says at no point it doesn't support more than 6 clients. I did notice the plug is UK/IRE in the picture.

    Built in DHCP on mine has failed, and a factory reset is not actually doing a factory reset….

    I'd have logged a support case for a replacement, but I'm running PiHole on a Zero.

    I'm with MyRepublic on FTTC.

    Changed from the Halo to the normal wifi hub (mainly because they ran out of the Halo) and connection on wifi has been solid for 8 devices (2 work laptops, 2 personal laptops, 3 mobiles and a PS4) using channel 11.

    I've had 2 Halo's replaced in the past and the difference credited. You should ask if it can be done for you as well.
