Hi guys, anyone see any new PS3 deals.
Mine suffered the famous YLOD over the weekend.
Sony charged $175 to get this fixed with 3 month warranty, thought that depending on the price, a new one might be a better idea?
Do not have the move, so if the new one comes bundled with it, better still.

COTD will usually only get in 1 or 2 units of big ticket items so they can legally advertise them.
It's just so they can get people interested in the sale and sell all the other crap they have left over from previous "deals". I saw an "internal memo" about this online somewhere a while back, an ex employee posted it from what I can remember.
You have almost no chance of getting a PS3 off COTD…
then i must be very very very very lucky as i managed to secure one off COTD, although this was about…1.5 years ago

nope it wasn't much different i think. i spent nearly an entire day on the pc checking very single hour….wasted my time but got a ps3 AND had to shell out 400 = no bargain HAHAHA

Same thing happened with the 20" Samsung LCD. Sold out in less than a minute before 5:01 came on :(
Anyway back OT, best I have seen is the 320GB console with Move Starter Pack + Move Sports Champion for $368 at Hardly Normal.
And the BenQ one as well.
HN in Knox vic had the 160gb for $297 if you are just replacing the ylod device that may be a good buy.

I think that was K-Mart and I don't think it's available anymore.. should be sold out at the moment. I was at JB-Hifi today trying to get the 160GB model for $298 (and intended to bargain it down to $289) but they were sold out. I didn't actually bother checking elsewhere.
The best package deal I've found is $378 for the 320GB console with FIFA 12 (bundle) at Harvey Norman. It's actually quite cheap. Lets deduct $69 for the price of FIFA 12, leaving it at $309. So, comparing the $289 (160GB K-Mart model price) to $309, you're paying an extra $20 for double the hard drive space. Not too bad.. and if you don't play FIFA 12, sell it on eBay asap and you can prob fetch yourself about $70.

edit: looks like you may be right.. a comment on that bargain near the end says it was listed at $288 at Big W starting 19th Sept.
