I don't know if I can get all 3 for a reasonable price, or if my budget is realistic for my expectations. Since I'm no expert here I am hoping I'll get some good advice. Reason for easy assembling criteria is I expect to be moving around a bit in the coming years. My old bed was great but it's a pain to disassemble/reassemble each time and is generally getting tired after >10 yrs. I want something a lot easier this time.
Budget: (~$2000 total)
$1,500 for Queen
$500 for Double (part time kids bed, doesn't need to be too fancy)
Bed frame:
Queen:
Whilst I find the Koala frames ugly, I hear only good things about them so they certainly tick the 3 boxes but are a bit pricey leaving only $700 for a mattress? I hear they discount occasionally but I'd like to purchase in the coming weeks. Is there any cheaper bed frames similar to Koala out there?
Double:
Koala don't make frames in double size, this is for a child who will be with me part time. Doesn't have to be too fancy, just not junk either.
Mattress type:
Queen:
I've only ever slept on innerspring beds so I don't have much knowledge here. I do like firmer mattresses so I was thinking I might be best looking at a pocket spring variety (the best of the innersprings from what I've researched). In principle, I like the idea of memory foam but in practice, because I tend to sleep on the side of the bed a lot, I would worry about it's ability to hold up over time. Happy to be proven otherwise.
Double:
Again, something cost effective for this.
I did some quick shopping tonight, Koala frame + Englander Boston Extra Firm Mattress (pocketspring bed) comes to $1,750. That's not leaving enough for the double so I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks in advance!
