Wall Mount for Sony 75 Inch TV

Hi OzB,

I’m looking to mount my Sony KD75X9000F onto my living room wall.

I want a minimalist look but also want easy access to the cables. I’m trying to decide between a fixed and a tilted mount.

I’m leaning towards the tilted mount like this:

Fixed is 35mm from wall and tilt is 80mm. The tilt one would allow me to tilt 15 degrees up or down which is very handy for cable access.

Would the 45mm difference be that noticeable? The cost is almost the same.

Just wanted to know what type of mount you good people have at home and if you love or hate it?

Thanks!

Edit: The house has gyprock over brick walls.

  • You just using one stud or two? This might do the job for one stud: https://www.bunnings.com.au/crest-large-full-motion-tv-wall-…

    • Gyprock over brick walls so no studs.

  • I always prefer the more expensive cantilever types, you can swing out the tv for access or alter the viewing angle whilst incorporating tilt and flush back on the wall as you desire. I find for the added cost it's generally worth it for versatility. More just an opinion on TV mounting in general really, albeit that's a largeTV which by the looks is larger then the mount you linked is rated for if you read the URL lol.

    • Yeah I do agree about mobility but this TV will be on a living room wall and unlikely to move in the future so the added features would be overkill.

The link name is 70 inches but the actual site lists it as 75 inches and it can handle weight of up to 100kg while my TV is only about 37kg. It's more than enough.

      • I see that, it's just an observation. I understand the 'overkill' but consider the price of TV versus skimping on accessories really. In any case I've only installed around 400 or so…

  • You can't go wrong with Selby and the tilting bracket. I have a 70 at around 2m off the ground tilting down slightly for good viewing sitting on the lounge
