Husband is sole trader and receiving jobkeeper- do I list him and his abn as the source of the jobkeeper income on my jobseeker reporting to centrelink this fortnight please?
JobSeeker - how do I declare husband's JobKeeper income?
Comments
I know I need to report it - my question is do I report it as from him and his abn number?
In other words am I saying he has paid himself?
Does he pay himself a wage or does he get money through business profit?
That shouldnt matter
That shouldn't matter
It can matter.
If he has claimed as an employee of his trust or company - must be declared as salary/wage income in his own tax return.
If he is claiming as an 'Eligible Business Participant' you would simply declare the income as revenue (like you would sales).
He is a sole trader. The declaration has boxes to complete REQUIRING ABN and business name of the business paying him. In the end I left the abn blank and put the business name as ATO JOBKEEPER. Please let me know if you think I have completed this incorrectly.
It won't matter so long as you're declaring the income.
ATO pays his business, his business pays him. Pretend the situation was not COVID - when declaring his income would you put each sale individually? Or would you just list his ABN and the total income? (as that's where the money has come from)
Seeing as no one has asked the obvious,
What did Centrelink say when you asked them?
Have you been lucky enough to have them pick up? How long did that take?
two phone calls
15 mins wait max.
How long did that take?
Hypothetically, less time than asking a forum of strangers for less reliable advice than what a Centrelink rep would provide.
Are they strangers to you? Shame. I have felt some real connection.
You should declare your husbands taxable income which includes the jobkeeper that he is receiving
Yes because it is taxable income
