Kings Gazebo Vs Wanderer Gazebo (Review)

I was recently tossing up between which brand and model gazebo to buy - camping plus outdoor shade at home. Wanted something decent to last through weather and rain and these 2 are what my research turned up.

Thought a post like this would be useful for others also looking at gazebos.

Ignoring the cheapest Bunnings gazebo, I went with the King's gazebo $120 delivered (4wdsupacentre) as well as the Wanderer anti pooling pro gazebo (https://www.bcf.com.au/p/wanderer-anti-pooling-pro-gazebo-3x…). (I ordered the Wanderer heavy duty gazebo but Scubacoles user below made me aware I was given the upgraded model!)

Kings (I have this one):
-3x3
-decent canopy material, is thick and strong
-some sag in canopy
-temperature of canopy on sunny day 40deg (Brisbane, early May)
-carry bag feels thin, seems like it would to easily around handles but I haven't tried it

Wanderer RRP$229 heavy duty:
-same frame design as Kings
-same canopy material as Wanderer anti pooling pro

Wanderer RRP$349 anti pooling pro (I have this one):
-feels much bigger than the king's even though it's 3x3, due to the roof structure being different
-strong canopy, feels much the same but no sag
-temperature of canopy on sunny day 45 deg (Brisbane, early May). This surprised me as this also has the silver backing on the canopy
-wheeled carry bag, much stronger and easier to move

Conclusion:
Only a comparison of a few gazebos. If I was price conscious I would go the Kings, but quality wise the Wanderer anti pooling pro looks much better. I'm not tall so the Kings would be great for me, but the feel of space underneath the Wanderer anti pooling pro is so great. A lot of other gazebos through my research seemed to be poor build quality and would collapse in the rain, just too expensive, or had a cheap canopy.

  • Personally don't like these designs with the criss-cross frame across the "ceiling" and a little pole holding up the centre.
As a taller person, I appreciate the extra feeling of space offered by the Anti-pooling designs. And coming from the Big W Coleman Hexagon Gazebo, I don't think I can go back…
I'm eyeing off the Spinifex Anti-Pool Deluxe and Wanderer Anti-pooling Pro waiting for a good price this year as the Coleman is on its last legs.

    • I also came from the Coleman hex gazebo, that was a bargain 🙂 I much prefer the 3x3 shape though

  • Yep this Wanderer is the anti pooling Pro version, just labelled different on bcf website

You can see the difference in the photos.. straight edges versus parabolic edges.
If you scored the Anti-pooling Pro for $140, I'm annoyed that I missed that price!

Oh wow, I must have been given the wrong gazebo by BCF! I definitely have the anti pooling pro (blue) - thought it was strange it came in blue and not black! I bought the heavy duty one online with click & collect

In that case I will see if I can edit my OP to fix it up!

        • Actually looked at your photos… Yep, looks like it.
          Massive bargain!
Best price I've seen on this or the Spinifex is $160.
Hoping it'll get back down there across this year.

And you're also rocking a Mi 9T like me! :D

  • If I'm not mistaken, Spinifex and Wanderer are the same frame

    • Yeah, they look identical, and Anaconda and BCF are owned by the same corproation.

      • No they’re not from the same group. They probably just get their products made from the same factory.

        • Yep, looks like you're correct… I was told that "fact" by someone but never bothered to check.

          • @ESEMCE: BCF is part of super cheap auto group, along with revel sport and macpac.

Anaconda is part of the Spotlight group.
